  • I have potted approx £13 over the past few days, I am deliberately being a bit vague as if I know exactly what I am potting I will be more tempted to open the pot. I have been using the second purse system and potting what I have left just before I get paid again.

Hello again, SPCers! I'm so sorry to have been off so long, but my computer was barely moving after yesterday afternoon and was the same right through to this afternoon! In the end Hubby thought we should ditch the browser (Firefox) but no other browser is able to copy and paste all my coloured welcomes or signature that I need!!! Why? I haven't a clue but it's a right pain at having to do each single one using attracting colours to help welcome folk on!!!! Finally we downloaded FF again and it appears to be working ok. Fingers crossed!!

Anyway, onwards..but do please forgive me if I don't answer everyone tonight.
I think hubby is more excited about the new SPC, he empties out his coins each day into the pot, yesterday and tonight were good amounts added, although he would not tell me how much as it must be a surprise!

It's wonderful when Hubbies get involved too, TheMillions, brilliant in fact, well done the pair of you, great potting so far! :j

Just a thought, Dizzy Imp, but is it possible for you to draw so much each week from the bank to pot?? You wouldn't be the first to do so, so if it helps..go ahead! :D If you've a recreation ground near you, have a scan around it regularly as, wherever kiddies are there are usually pennies to be found!!! :A Don't get too down about it, think of other ways to try to save - where there's a will......!
I may have to walk past the local pub on Saturday morning in the hope of finding some money dropped by a weary drunk late on Friday night! Haha.
    X

That's not such a bad idea either, Lyndsey-michelle, give it a try, honestly! Also have a look at what I've just written above to Dizzy Imp as people/kiddie places can often produce a few pence! ;)

Don't worry, Alisont, you're in for SPC 9, good luck with your potting!

All the very best in finding the other guinea pig, [Deleted User], have a look under sheds etc as it may have been frightened by that wicked wind. xxx for your DD :A

No doubt that rocky start would have knocked you off course at one time, Helen, not now though...our lass remains strong!!! :j

Excellent saving, cybertortoise! Saving vaguely is a great way to do ity so it's a big surprise come next Nov, though after a while, so long as you don't write it down, you'll soon forget the rough sum.

There's some brilliant saving going on, folk, keep it up as you're doing so well. Though never despair if it's hard going at times, nothing in life is easy...potting included! :D
Enjoy the evening, SPCers, and I hope Thursday's a good one for all, pots included!!!!!!
    Sue xx

NB SPC Savers: For 2016 - 3rd November will be the new opening date! Don't forget your diaries digital or otherwise.

Anyone wishing to join us, it's NEVER too late, so please just ask, you'll be made very welcome. :grinheart

Wanted to say,my dad passed away on Monday "our time".(Family is in Australia, where I am from, and I got the call just before midnight Monday night).I will be flying over there as soon as I can organise it-probably Sunday or early next week.
I have been continuing to work -because I don't know what else to do with myself,-so days are ok.Evenings are awful for me-so far away from family .

Thanks for the encouragement and suggestion Sue. I did take some money out yesterday as I finally ventured into civilization for milk, and promptly bought a Maccy D breakfast on the way to my DH's aunt and uncle's house this morning. It was soooo good (can't remember the last time I bought fast food). Change given will be split between the holding piggy and the sealed one with the option to transfer it all on Sunday. £1.02 definitely into the non-refundable pig today to join my solitary penny...

  • Have potted some shrapnel today, still that hollow 'clunk' sound - clearly I need to try harder.
