    Hi

Would love to join the SPC 09. How do I get a number ??
After reading about everyone's fantastic Yearly totals - I went and brought myself a sealed tin to start potting - Can I join please?

Of course you can both join, Luna29412 and Charliebear! A very warm welcome to you both, it's lovely to have you with us. :grinheart Enjoy yourselves saving, posting and join in the banter with us as it helps keep you motivated. You'll find your numbers at the bottom of the list on the 3rd post of page 1. Please read through post 1 as it'll let you know exactly what to do with the challenge. PS. We empty our pots and declare our savings in November, please make a note of this year's date: 3rd Nov.

Please also subscribe to the thread by clicking on "Thread Tools" (lower green bar) and clicking "Subscribe to this thread"...or you may lose us! To put your SPC No on, go to "Quick Links" (right side of top green bar), click and then click on "Edit Signature" and you're away. ;)

*Please pop your numbers on your sigs, it really helps.

Luna29412 and Charliebear Anything you wish to know, then please never hesitate to ask! :D

Excellent saving both in money and the loss of DH's $6, mummytummy, far better in your pot. It's great to hear you're doing daily potting too regardless of the amount! :j

Not bad going eh, TheCatsandDogsMother! Why not stick a magnet on pup's nose to get him to pick up any losses! :D Just a thought. ;)

Morning all, my sister paid me a I o u of £12 nearly put in my purse but no in tin now :)
Just seen a massive tin with bank note on I wonder how much money it would hold ,I think the little ones hold about £500 has anyone else seen them ?
I wonder how much money they hold does anyone know?

Excellent saving via your Sister, skilly, your pot's by far the best place for it. I've no idea how much any pots hold, not even my terramundi as, because I have 2, 1 for £2s and 1 for £1s they never get filled up. Someone else might well be able to tell you though so keep a watch out.
Good Morning all, SPCers, have a lovely Tuesday! Take care of your pots by feeding them well!!!!

Just a quick question - where does everyone pay in their SPC savings? My bank (Nationwide) has a limit on how many bags of coins I can pay in and it's inconvenient to make multiple trips to town to pay it in.
Does anyone know if the Post Office have limits?

    Thanks in advance

  • Hi Sue & fellow potters :hello:

Please count me in again for SPC 9. I won't set a target yet because I failed to reach it last time and don't want to discourage myself. Thanks so much, Sue-UU, for hosting yet another year of this brilliant thread and a big WELL DONE to everyone on their super impressive totals!
This time I'm using a new (99p) sealed tin for anything smaller than 50p and my trusty camper van for 50p and £1 coins. My new tin bears the slogan "This time next year we will be Millionaires!" I seriously doubt it but I live in hope :rotfl:
On Saturday I spotted a £1 coin in a muddy puddle...guess where it is now? Washed and in my pot! Today I found 20p (must be on a roll) so potted that too as well as a few coppers left after doing the food shopping.
Welcome to all the Newbies, lovely to have you along :T:

Have a lovely day everyone (wet and windy here) x

twiggy86 - a coffee jar bill be perfect, you can always decorate the outside with paper or by painting it. We hold you to that pledge of yours though! ;) Best wishes and save well.

Another gold star for a great welcome, Lynne, many thanks for the help. :staradmin Having real problems doing this text, whether it's wind (not me!) or not I don't know, but such a pain.

Hi terri, most banks (these days) are very good. Ours is Natwest and they took all ours and from what everyone's said at the end of SPC 8 nobody else had a problem. Take your cash in at a quieter time of day. However, when I first started SPC I always took ours to our village PO/shop who were only too glad to take it off our hands. Why not ask them in advance so you know for sure.

Oh, you're too kind, little_sweetie, :blushing: but thank you so much. No problem as I wouldn't NOT count you in, but it's good to see you here. How's the eye? Keep walking behind whoever it is who's dropping that cash! Not G is it?! Who knows about your pot...ot might just be an omen, then again, but keep hoping! Good to see you, be with you soon.

Ahhhh, Bagpuss, it's wonderful to see you back!!!! :j I presume you've been on SPC 8 to declare, I'll see it later on, but right now I have HUGE problems with my laptop or it's the wind maybe. Good to see you!!

The winds down here are terrible, SPCers!! Take GREAT care!!!!
