Argh, that C word
Great when you're not scrabbling around in December for non-existent cash because you're saving up over the year. Makes such a difference now.

That's because you have me on your back haha, keep going :-)
haha! it is indeed
i have another update for you too. I'll be over to tell you in a second :j
I emptied my purse into my sealed pot last night. I think i need to get into the habit of doing this maybe every Friday. You can tell it's getting close to November, i'm panicking about not saving enough haha.
I might be going to Canada next month. Work are sending me so it shouldn't cost me anything but i may need to raid the pot to pay for presents and things. This will be the first time i have ever left the UK so i want to bring back lots to remember the trip by.Sealed Pot Challenge member #071 VSP #4

Fancy leaving jakes-mum and me in locum parentis - are you sure about that ??? Lx
Sometimes I wonder about her below.....I'm sure you're all aware of what I mean....like a naughty school girl!! Talking of which it looks as though this place has turned into St Trinians while I was merrily enjoying myself with the family! Talk of CHRISTMAS? when we're only in early August??!!!  :mad:You know what that means! . . . Christmas in July!!!
Really???? You think...coz I don't
Don't get too carried away now
BTW - am I or you in charge of the naughty step for the week ??Lx
You would've been IF you'd behaved yourself....BUT...instead you're on it for a week along with tother article!!!!!! :rotfl:Saver-upper wrote:It also means we can count up how many days it is til pot-opening day. Sue hates it when we do that too early :rotfl:.

That goes for you too, Saver-upper and mummytummy and......especially jakes-mum!!!!!   A week on the naughty bench (the steps not big enough for you lot!) with NO chocolate or biccies......while we're all feeding our faces with the lot!!!!!
Right then, most of you SPCers, it's good to be back after a really fantastic time at the sea with such amazing views that you'd barely believe! We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves....and didn't want to come back! I'm so very happy that you've all been saving so incredibly well, keep it up gang as you'll be so thrilled you did when November arrives!!!! Best wishes to anyone who mightn't be feeling so good or have other issues, here are some special {{{hugs}}} to help you get well soon. Your SPC family are thinking of you. :grinheart
Thanks very much for your wishes, Chutney, and well saved......
......you too, plumduff and Antomac, and I hope you've had a fantastic holiday in Barcelona, wonderful!!!! Ooooh I can hear Freddie Mercury now!!
You don't HAVE to count, clairelm, it's honestly not imperative by any means, just so long as you're potting...that's the main thing.
Excellent potting, mrs-moneypenny. :T
A great way to still enjoy a lovely week together, siju! I really hope your DM will soon settle into and be happy in the sheltered accommodation; change is never easy, but when they're getting on in years...! I wish her well.
You're saving so well, Westie, you too Florence and TheCatsandDogsMother. So pleased the pup's eye's getting better.
Well done on that total, mummytummy, I dont blame you at all for banking it before you move, better to be safe than sorry.
I totally agree with jakes-mum evkizzy, if your a bit short on your cash for groceries and so forth then hold on to the £10er and see how you go.:D

Hope you are all well.
Still potting Sue!! You've taught me well
Happy to tell you that as of today our debt management plan is over.......six long years of working our butts off, sticking to a budget, sticking to a list in the supermarket, putting every spare penny into our sealed/virtual sealed pots.....its been hard but I am glad we had to go through it.
I will never take money for granted ever again. I have learned to save!!! I am converted!!!
I want to thank each and every one of you who has offered support and guidance to me. Not one of you know me personally but you have helped me through some dark times and for that I am eternally grateful.
Updated siggy and am heading over to the debt free thread to share my news!!!
Love to you all
Emily xxxx
Hoo-ray Emily that really is THE VERY BEST NEWS!!!!!!! :j:T :j I know it's been a long haul for you as a family, but by sticking together and being sensible you got through it and have obviously learned so much as a result - huge congratulations to you!!!!! Don't leave us though...will you?!!
You're doing well too, donna dynamo, keep on potting as much as possible!!!
Don't worry, mcjordi, we know you always do your best anyway but bills have to come first!!
Good to see you now and then, TheDapster, whenever you can will be lovely!
Small amount are good amounts too, 12 month challenge, we can only do our best and general living comes first everytime!!
No wonder you're delighted, Curly, £1.50p in roadkill is mammoth!!!!!! :j Well spotted.
Antomac's right, evkizzy, that 5p let off is most definitely saving! A good chap your driver! BTW, I save half my money for holidays and tother half for Christmas.
Hi there bubbs, and so lovely to see you. Looking forward to your declaration in November!!!
I go along with Lynne, Seaotter, put piggy somewhere very safe if you don't have a separate bank/PO account. Then grab any old jar/pot, get yourself a lid and make a hole in it and seal it tightly and.........KEEP POTTING
Keep up the great work, Vicky, and continue [STRIKE]fleecing [/STRIKE] getting the best out of your DH!!!! :rotfl:
Good to see you in again, mossy! I too love C time...despite what others here might say!
Congratulations on your 4legged friend joining you, MrsShazbat, and the ideal gift to your DH after the illnesses he's suffered!!! :T
You're doing so very well, parksandrec!!!
I know the holidays aren't an easy time for parents to save, Dizzy Imp, enjoy the time with them and catch up on savig when you can.
An excellent amount banked, Fiasco, very well done!!! :T Did you siggy it?!
You know what's best for you, Ruth, but at least you tried the non-counting to see. I do hope you get to go to Canada, what a great gift!!! :jtizzi13 wrote:Just got back from a surprise trip in Disneyland Paris where my partner proposed so now I have to save even more pennies, which makes it even more fun :-) can't wait :-D
Very many congratulations to you and your DF, Tizzi, a wonderful event to save for!!!! :T
I always think of your 1st year with us whenever you declare, jakes-mum, one for each of the kiddies! Though had I known that what trouble you'd have been I should have deleted you there and then!!!!! BTW. This is the 9th year of SPC!!!!!!! So, I've suffered you for 7!!
Thanks so very, very much indeed, jakes-mum and Lynne, for all the invaluable help, you have been a great pair indeed........so your week's penalty on the naughty bench for so much C talk is suspended!!!! Well at least for now! A little gift for you both :staradmin:staradminHave a truly fantastic weekend, folks, and enjoy the Olympics!! Keep topping those pots!
