I found that I go through phases of potting and saving, to splurging on impulse buys!.. trying to get back into the saving phase.
Currently listing lots of things on shpock.. made a few sales..
Anyhoo, £4.00 in the pot for me.0 -
Ooh MrsShazBat, please tell us about your dog. They are such a fantastic addition to any family (expect when they do things you don't like - a bit like kids :rotfl:)
I seem to have been very busy lately. We moved my mother into sheltered accommodation last week and she's taking time to settle in so I've been running up and down to see her and it's an 80 mile round trip. Plus DD, DSIL and DSIL's son visited over the weekend, so all in all, I'm glad to be in work for a rest.
Not much potting going on at the moment, but I did manage to put £2.23 in yesterday. Have a good week everyone.SPC 16 - #09 Totals: 2014 - £264.51 2015 - £207.50 2016 - £396.79 2017 - £369.49 2018 - £484.24 2019 - £309.90 2020 -£282.06 2021- £1839.89 2022 -£1627.830 -
Hi everyone :hello:
I've been away from the forums for a while - work stress getting in the way. However, I'm BACK!!!
Potting continues steadily, as does swiping whatever change DH leaves lying around the house. :rotfl: Found 90p on his beside table this morning, which seemed to grow legs and find its way into the pot!
£20 also paid into my bank account for safe keeping (and noted on my spreadsheet).

Steadily potting away the odd bit of change. Don't think I'm going to have a huge sum this year (not that it's especially big anyway)...would be nice if I got around £40/£50 as we could use that to buy a real Christmas tree for Christmas.
We'll see....hope everyone is doing well.Saving for Disney again, oops why book one Disney holiday when you can book two!:starmod: Emergency Fund Savings - #148 - £10/£1000 1% :starmod::xmastree:#083 SPC6 £63 - SPC7 £90 - SPC8 £63 - SPC9 £54 - SPC10 £26 - SPC12 £70 :xmastree:0 -
Another £2 into the pot tonight.
The dog is called Storm and she's 6 years old. We got her from the Dogs' Trust at the weekend. It all moved a bit fast as we only went to see them last Tuesday, but I guess it's like the NHS - they need the space!! :rotfl:
Her previous owners were leaving her for 10 hours a day and then only walking her for 30 mins. She's a husky so she REALLY NEEDS WALKING!! Other than that, she had no issues reported - gets on with dogs, people, and kids. She hasn't gone for any of the cats we've come across yet so that's also good. Although we wouldn't condone leaving her for 10 hours, it does at least mean we can leave her for work - hubby works shifts so is home before me. Today was her first half-day alone as I took the afternoon off, and she was VERY pleased to see me. We passed the home-visit but need to fully fence the garden, if only for our own peace of mind. We've got willow screening and a lot of trellis with climbing plants (some of which are prickly), but she's quite bouncy and I reckon one good jump and she'd be over. Not that we encourage that. We keep her on a long lead fastened to a tree in the garden, but obviously we need to let her run free. She's also recovering from being speyed so can't get too exuberant yet.
The background is that hubby has been teasing me for years that he wants a dog, not least since we moved from our maisonette into this house. Then when he was ill last year, he started on about it again saying it would aid his recover - to the point that he was getting his nurses on the hospital ward to badger me on his behalf :rotfl: Well, we're coming up on the first anniversary of his initial operation to remove his bladder, so what better way to mark the occasion.SPCNo.18 #20 (17 £562.86 16 £678; 15 £1120.92; 14 £416.53; 13 £191.52; 12 £260.48; 11 £480.95; 10 £682.31; 9 £442.64)

Please don't forget to put the £20 you've banked onto your siggy, as Sue says it helps to stop it being missed in the final count-up

Thanks for the welcome back. Looking for more potting opportunities today, but DH hasn't left any change out. :rotfl: Plenty of 5p pieces in my purse though.
MrsShazBat - the dog sounds gorgeous. Such a shame about the previous owners, but at least she's now got you!Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -
Good on you MrsShazBat, she sounds fabulous. I'm sure your DH is right, she will aid his recovery. I can't imagine life without my dog
Haven't got anything to pot because I haven't spent any money, but I'm sure that will all change soonSPC 16 - #09 Totals: 2014 - £264.51 2015 - £207.50 2016 - £396.79 2017 - £369.49 2018 - £484.24 2019 - £309.90 2020 -£282.06 2021- £1839.89 2022 -£1627.830
