Do you ever credit for old stuff?

I had a MMD before you started giving out badges (it was the one about having 2 children one with high student fees and one with low and whether you should give both children the same amount in £££ or clear both their student loans.)
I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I volunteer to help get your forum questions answered and keep the forum running smoothly. Today we’re launching a new automated version of Forum badges celebrating MoneySavers’ Forum milestones to go alongside our existing badges.
Good grief, there really is no demand for this, have you people got nothing better to do?

The two 'badges' shown as examples are merely duplicating the date of joining and the number of posts that already appear under the username.

Now: we can turn off pointless stuff like avatars and signatures. When will we be able to turn of even more pointless stuff like 'badges'?

Sorry Andrea - this is really bugging me! I feel patronised and insulted. why are you 'dumbing down' the forum?

I too wonder what you do up in MSE towers?

Sit around all day 'brainstorming'? come up with 'bright ideas'? reminds me of the Pounds to Pockets advert!

why don't you sort out the number of posters who 'bully' and 'target' other posters?
why don't you make sure that PPR'd posters don't just get a new email addy and join again under another name, or join under multiple user names? that's what we really want you to be doing!

I may be slightly number dyslexic but I don't need a 'badge' to know that my posts number more than '10K'!
  • I don't dislike the badges but I don't particularly like them either, I'd never had one until yesterday and can't say it adds anything to my posts or anyone elses. Is the idea that the exact number of posts will not feature in the future? if so why? if not why the badge?

Just a note, the badge images are examples - those aren't the only ones, we're staggering the launch and it'll take a few days for all badges to filter through ... wait and see :)

I dont care what they look like, I dont want them. Im not 5 years old and dont require gold stars ( or whatever they are ) for good work.

    Remove mine please

Find it, and send the link to MSE Badger. That's how I got mine, one dates back six years!

and I have a BA(hons), I don't want little 'badges', I am not even bothered about the 'medals' Martin handed out - but they were a part of the forum before my time so I just accepted them. You can have them back if you want! just leave my 'Counts' alone!

My thanks count has disappeared and reappeared on some threads - how strange! nothing to do with my dislike of the 'Badgers' is it?
