But a few rose petals in the living room then down on 1 knee is true romance -_

Definition of romance: a feeling of excitement and mystery associated with love.

As long as it feels romantic to the couple, it doesn't matter if other people think it's too cheap/normal/simple/private/public/[insert your own word here], etc.

It's capturing a moment. Do people not make wedding videos? I think sex tapes are a bit worse taste than a proposal video but everyone seems to do them still.

To show how awesome & creative I am of course. Didn't you see the comment about proposal's being the guy's "look at me" moment? :P You can also edit in music etc to make it epic.

To me something romantic is something from the heart, something genuine. The man setting up a scene to show how awesome he is isn't my idea of romance, schoolboy antics really.

  • How did she know you were going to propose as that suggests you had already agreed?
Because we'd discussed marriage before I actually proposed - once we'd been dating for a few months, we both knew we were meant to be together.

Her dad even came round to our house and lectured me on not delaying getting married or we couldn't have a summer wedding the next year!

In fact, an excellent reason to decline his kind offer!:D
