I like the sound of the Speed foods, but not sure what veg is not allowed? Or if Extra Virgin Olive Oil is still counted as a HEB choice?
hi both, always room for lots of new people:wave:
Your trip sounds wonderful Cheese, the olive oil is no longer a HEB unfortunately not sure why but I know a few people have mentioned it on here.
Veg wise, speed is most veg except for the starchy/sugary one.. I.e. Potatoes, parsnips, peas, corn on the cob. There may be a list on the front page but I'm on my iPad at the minute so can't go and check for you (otherwise I lose everything!:() e.t.a. There's a link in the first post to a list of speed fruit and speed veg, hope that helps x
Well done all you losers :T enjoy your shiny glory's :T:T
Great getting back on plan loss tazzy!!
We got up early to go shopping today but the weather is abysmal so I've come back to bed with a cuppahair, make up both done :rotfl: instead of shopping, today I will be making onion chutney and chilli jam for my sisters foodie hamper I do each Xmas. The house is going to smell like a vinegar factory :happyhear

I didn't think I would have lost any this week I have been a bit shaky.
Hope everyone else has lost or STS hugs to you all.0 -
Welcome new people! :hello:
I'm trying to put off shopping this week as DH has quite a lot of events on, so not feeling the need to stock the kitchen as much as usual. But it may mean some odd food combos for a bit as I use up odds and ends!
Another EE day today...
Breakfast - Weetabix and berries (HEB, part HEA)
Lunch - Cheese omelette and salad (rest of HEA)
Dinner - Haddock in lemon sauce (4.5 syns) with new pots and veg
This fish was lurking in the freezer, more syns than I would like to use on a bit of sauce but it was DH's pick. Will steer him towards the chargrills next time!<snip>
Supper and snacks. F f yoghurt. Mince pie ( sainsburys ????? Syns
There's quite a few to choose from, ranging from 5 syns for the mini ones through to 13 for the deep filled! But there's no free allowance in mince pies, so it will use the 1 syn for every 20 calories rule if that helps.0 -
Hiya everyone, 2 off yippee and 2 to go plus 3 extra to be below.:T
That's brilliant wiz and you too tazzy and musogirl and tie!:T
Welcome newbies.:D
cheese, I think the oil disappeared about a year ago when SW did a revamp of fruit and veg list and introduced EESP. What I'd suggest is that you do your best to have as many EESP meals/days as you can which would be lean meat/pulses for the protein and fruit and veg from the list for the Speed 50:50. When you do have carbs then try for plain rice as much as possible, so a third each carb, protein, speed which is EE. Your adventure sounds amazing! Are you doing self catering? How much control do you have over what you eat?
ETA: some people have success sticking to things that used to be on the old plan on the principle that if it worked then it'll work now. That would particularly apply to olive oil as the recipe won't have changed!
I was very good last night. I volunteered to drive to Christmas dance so no wine syns! and was sensible with buffet limiting myself to 3 sandwiches, one vol au vent and the rest all SW friendly like grapes, tomatoes, chicken and veg sticks. Weighed up (excuse pun;)) against the potential wine syns it was a very healthy evening.
Today's EE plan:
B: NAS Grapefruit, scrambled eggs, HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks
L: probably last of lentil and veg souproast beef, SW roasties and roast parsnips, cauli, broccoli, swede and carrot mash
Syns: squirt of HP sauce, gravy, maybe horseradish, weekend wine syns!:j0 -

Sorry TIE missed this earlier.. glad that all his tests have come back fine but this must still be a worry for you.

Helloooo new people :hello::hello::hello:
It's great to see that some of us are still managing to lose a little at this very tempting time of the year. Well done to you all :T.
The snow here came all of a sudden yesterday shala. We decided to leave our car in the garage at home and WALK (not too far) to Mum's as the car would have been parked in a bit of a precarious position and we didn't want to tempt fate the way our luck is going at the minute. On our little walk DH measured depth of snow and it came out at around 5" which may not be desperately deep but it just covered everywhere so quickly. Then of course it had to go and freeze overnight :eek::eek:. We are still listening to the cars crunching driving past Mums. DH brought the car down for me this morning in case I wanted to go out - very thoughtful of him but I would much rather stay indoors
. Might have to pop out for a little trip as I don't want to seem ungrateful :rotfl:.
Had hm pea and ham soup for lunch (2 big bowls) and we are having a lovely brisket joint for tea with loads of veggies and will have some lush gravy.
Not expecting great results tomorrow night as I'm back to having those darned loo issues again
Stay warm and safe everyone.

Hello everyone including Newbies :hello:
Cheese - your adventures sound amazing, travelling for a year it would be great to hear more of your adventures, are you working on your trip, or is it the holiday of a lifetime? I couldn't even begin to think how tricky it is to follow an eating plan when surrounded by all that yummy foreign food.:D
b-e-g I hope the snow is not too bad in your neck of the woods. I have a real fear of driving in these conditions and avoid as much as possible. I don't have a 4WD, so that's my excuse!!:rotfl:I can empathise with you in the toilet dept. There but for the grace of God etc!
I had a G & T fest on Friday and then regretted it for most of Saturday. I have cut down so much on the drink that when I do imbibe I feel like carp the next day. Still my liver enjoys the break!
Menu: B Porridge
L: Ham saladRoast beef, loadsa veg, SW roasties, gravy (syn) etc.
Snacks: Alpen lights x2 banana Satsuma apples etc.
Most of my syns this week were in a glass!!
Funny enough I feel "heavy" this week not sure what this means. As I STS last week I'm hoping for a loss this week.0 -

Hoping I can join you?? Been reading your threads for a bit now and you are all such a lovely, chatty bunch!
I've been a member of SW for a while - lost 3 stones, and just plodded on with food optimising! Back In June my Hubby and I realised a dream and we set off on a year travelling.
We are now 6 months in and the weight is unfortunately creeping back on ( about 1.5 stone.) We are currently In Cambodia and plan to stay here for 4 weeks, the place we're staying has a gym and does Aerobics so going to get really good body magic, but would like to incorporate FO again, as much as I can. Really don't want to come home in 6 months and have to lose its all again.
I like the sound of the Speed foods, but not sure what veg is not allowed? Or if Extra Virgin Olive Oil is still counted as a HEB choice?
Hoping you can help and I can join in your chat? Thanks!
