My diet is healthy. I do exercise, nevertheless I don't lose weight. The foods I consume often, are Sicilian. Fresh fish, pasta, caponata. Stopping myself from eating mature caciocavallo with crackers was difficult. I do everyday, with lunch, and dinner, have a slice of dressed bread. This has always been the way with my family. Do you think the bread is what I need to cut out from my diet?0

Hi everyone. Thanks for the warm welcome!
Thank you also Shala_moo and Maman for the info on SP and olive oil, I think I will stick to the plan and just syn it if I have to. We are not self catering here unfortunately, so not much control over the cooking, which is why I think I need to be synning oil!
Tazzy_b writing it down is my life saver also, if I don't then I think I've only had 3 syns and it's probably more like 8.
TIE blue cheese is a firm favourite ( alongside every other)
Akers we are just travelling, hopefully not having to work. Just keeping to strict budgets per country! Being in South East Asia is helping a lot, everything is so cheap here.
So today's menu:
B - FF yoghurt + Watermelon
L - mixed pepper + onion omelette with tomato salad
D - grilled chicken with stir fry veg
Syns - oil for cooking (6)
HEA - I'm trying to do SP, but won't be having cheese or milk, can I substitute a FF yoghurt?
HEB - again hard to have, but will try have a slice of WM bread later.
I hope the weather is not too sever and everyone stays safe!0 -

You can have cheese or milk on SP but unfortunately yogurt isn't part of a 100% SP day
If you're not having any cheese or milk though, personally i'd just have the yogurt anyway to make sure you're having enough calcium.. it would just be a 95% Sp day
Hope that helps.
Well i've had a sneaky look on the scales this morning and i'm managing my maintainance till xmas plan, which is brilliant!
I have one xmas meal out this week, and the rest of the time i'm cooking at home so hopefully it'll be a good week

How much do you know about the Slimming World plan BCC? Many of the foods you describe can be fitted to the plan it's a case of how you cook them. So, for example, pasta with a tomato based sauce made with spray oil is fine but not creamy, cheesy ones which would use up all your syns. You don't have to give up bread but the only ones included in the plan are wholemeal and if the dressing includes olive oil then that's more syns used up (6 for a tablespoon). Caponata is fine if you adapt the recipe to Frylight spray oil and syn (or leave out) olives. There's a lot of information about the plan on line (SW website) or in the first posts here. Just ask if you need to know anything:).musogirl295 wrote: »Does anybody have any suggestions of what I can have my syn free lemon curd with? Currently just having it in yoghurt and fruit. I suppose you're looking for something to spread it on which automatically means syns:(. Or you could use your HEB. Finn Crisps are 6 for a HEB and have a good nutty flavour or 1 syn each.
:T on the jeans. A NSV!!Morning,

You'd definitely lose weight on a 95% SP plan cheese. As you don't intend to have the extra HEB then it won't matter that you're not doing it 100%.
:T on the maintenance plan shala, sorry to hear you're finding it a struggle tweets.
Today's EE plan:
B:NAS Grapefruit, baked beans, HEB toast
L: lentil soup (skipped it for lunch yesterday)baked haddock, sweet potato wedges, mushrooms, tomatoes, mixed veg (mange tout, peas, onion?)
Syns: scrape of spread, maybe 3 syns worth of chocolate
Today's EE0 -
Morning all
Reporting in with a gain this week - +1. Not really surprised, pretty much lost the plot over the weekend and I've got loads of posts to catch up on because I avoid visiting this thread when I'm off plan.
Back on plan today and one thing I'm definitely going to do is cut out the wine Syns unless we're socialising. We've got into bad habits, wine is so cheap here and it's so much easier than making a hot drink..
Welcome to Blue choo choo and the Cheese and well done to everyone who is managing to lose weight in spite of all the festive temptations. :T
Have a good week everyone.

I don't normally disagree with you maman but thought it was worth pointing out that SP doesn't work for everyone. Always worth a try, but I think the main thing is to enjoy what you're eating. If restricting carbs feels like torture as an example, SP is truly going to feel like a diet rather than a lifestyle.
But anyway, back to the point. There are a couple of ladies in my group that never have losses when they try SP. They go back to EE and have steady 1-2lb losses every week. And I checked, they were doing it correctly! It may just be that their bodies process carbs better than protein. Mine is definitely the opposite, which is why I love SP! But I also love my EE days from time to time, I tend to decide on the day what mood I'm in.
Today is SP though...
Breakfast - The usual (Arla, berries, grapenuts - HEB1+1syn)
Lunch - Eggs and ratatouille
Snack - Apple and cheese (HEA), maybe some Ryvitas (1/2 HEB2)
Dinner - Pepperpot stew
Pudding - Hifi Light (1 or 2 depending on snack, rest of HEB2)0 -
Loaded with the cold since last weds / thurs. Been off plan since Saturday.

Bad Luck getting a cold lantanna. Hope you feel better very soon. Shame they say 'feed a cold'.:(I don't normally disagree with you maman but thought it was worth pointing out that SP doesn't work for everyone. Feel free to disagree june, that's one of the things I love about this thread, the discussion is far better than anything we have in my group. I was commenting on the menu that cheese had posted and saying that she'd lose with it even if she added in free yogurt (so not 100% SP). I agree with you that totally carb free and no free food would be a strain for any extended period. I tend to only do SP for an odd meal here and there, rarely if ever for a full day.
Do keep posting lois whether you're on plan or not. 100% agree about the wine syns. I do my very best to restrict them to weekends and special occasions but then I'm not surrounded by all the temptation that you are.
I was very hungry at lunchtime. I had my soup but it wasn't enough so I had fried egg, mushrooms and ham. Don't you just love SW.:D0
