You can do Xmas cold cuts for free or very few syns. Turkey, ham (either a gammon joint Mum cooked earlier in the week or slices), salad, rice with veg, new potatoes, beetroot, gherkins, pickled onions.

If have some olives, chutneys, mustard etc, then syn them.

On Christmas Day in the hotel in Benidorm last year they had paella with squid ink - the Spanish were all over it, the Brits stood back. :rotfl:
I'd definitely lose over Xmas if that was the menu _pale_:D

Glad to hear your mom is getting there physically BEG, it'll must be hard for her if she was so close to your aunt :( at least she has you to care for her though, you're a lovely daughter!:A

Well done on your loss Beanie :T

Off plan day for me today, we had a work team building event in the city so no time for any breakfast before the train and then lunch was at Apres :o only had pork sandwich and a few chips with a diet coke though.. everyone else had massive burgers and pizza! Could have ordered a jacket potato but my friend had one and it was swimming in full fat melted cheese, which would have made my tummy bad :(

Sounded like an exhausting day yesterday CP, hope you had lots of fun. York is beautiful, very jealous :D

Hope everyone else is ok xxx

  • Just checking in to say I'm really struggling this week. Is the busiest time of year at work and is so stressful and exhausting. So have given into comfort food massively. Missed weigh in this week as not left work till late any day this week so not had time to weigh in. Officially I guess I should report a STS (thanks Shala) but I guess in reality it probably wouldn't be that good! Definitely going to try to get to my usual group on Tuesday and report back on the damage so at least I know where I stand. i think if I'm honest with myself I need to try to aim for a STS overall in December and then come at it again with gusto in the new year. Me and stress and healthy eating don't go so well together. If I aim to reduce the damage over next few days so I don't have a complete set back I'll be pleased.

Well done to those posting losses glad some people are managing to stay focused. My sympathy to those fellow strugglers, it's a tough time of year. Hope to be able to report back some good news, I.e not too big a gain or hopefully even better next week.

I'm working 26-30 Dec inclusive. So I will be on my feet for at least fours a day. First year where I haven't worked XE, my 8th Xmas with them

My managers tend to give our normal days off during final two weeks of the year. Somehow, that maybe not the case next year as my days off are 22nd and 23rd, the biggest trade days for my employer.

Trying to tell myself that half a pound a week is nearly two stone in a year!

smedley, it's good to hear that your mum is feeling slimmer and more toned even though it's not showing on the scales. Perhaps it's because although you're currently having a break from SW as such you're still eating healthily. Is she perhaps walking more, toning up because she's feeling fitter? It's difficult to say why but hope she's happy.

Mum's only been off SW since 1 December 2015. Nice that she can relax a bit for Xmas :)
I was just relaying her observations.
It's difficult to be objective about the weight loss, she feels as though this shift in size is recent, but it is more likely successful accumulative SW results.
I still think it is worth continuing SW even if there is no evidence of weight loss on the scales.
I would love more people to keep on losing when they hit a plateau, then report a drop in clothes size in the future on this forum.

Water, Hot Lemon water, ginger and lemon tea.
  • Another "not too bad" day today. One day at a time... Baby steps.

Have the decorator still in and house is upside down but have avoided takeaway.

Lunch was chops (fat removed) with sw chips and gravy

Tea was 2 slices of kids pizza at work. Ended up working late thats why I had this. Minimal cheese on it, so will use the cheese as my HEA (honestly a tiny amount!). It only had a little piece of ham on each slice too.

I also had a cookie today. Not sure how many syns in it but will be high. Once of those big ones from a bakery.

Feeling a little peckish now so gonna have a slice of wholemeal toast for my HEB with a little butter.

Could have gone a lot worse, but feeling in control. Mega busy at work and also at home moving furniture around so I'm doing a little body magic too, lol.

    CP xx
