Joedenise - I used to do SW online but stopped my subscription at the start of the year so no clue what SP is.

Going to start classes in the new year as I think I need the weekly weigh in by someone else to keep me on track.

Is melon and grapefruit still speed foods? Beans?

SP or EESP to give it it's full title (Extra Easy Speed Protein) is a new sort of Fast Forward for speeding up weightloss not as a permanent plan. It's basically carb free and no free foods. So just 50:50 Protein (lean meat, fish, pulses), Speed (fruit and veg) 1 HEXA and 2 HEXBs. If you go back to the beginning of this thread there are lists of Speed foods.

ETA: Oh and syns, you can have those!!!

I've been out at Aquafit so only just seen this Maman but will remember the tip for next time. I seem to have either HEA or HEB but not both on many days. I know it's not ideal but does it really matter with weight loss?

They're in there because they're healthy so best to have them whenever you can. Although there are other ways (e.g.calcium in some fish) the plan isn't properly balanced without them.
Had a lovely sausage casserole for our meal tonight - one of DH's make it up as you go along type things. Mum enjoyed it too which was nice and we have enough leftover (no sausages) but mushrooms, onion, peppers, toms and butter beans and this will do lunch tomorrow with some pasta. Mum will try most things but I cannot get her to try pasta or rice :rotfl:

We had sausage casserole tonight too. I'd planned to do the 'cowboy' one that we used to have when out DDs were young (with baked beans and bacon etc) on pasta but DH did baked beans for breakfast so we had the Tana Rmasay (cabbage and butter bean) more grown up one instead. Shame your DH doesn't have a recipe for his. I'd like to try it;).

Tazzy - both melon and grapefruit are Speed foods. Beans are Protein.

Basically SP is 50% Protein and 50% Speed, no Free foods (potatoes, rice, pasta, yoghurt etc). If you snack you should have Speed foods. It would be worth you having a look at Shala's posts at the beginning of the thread which gives a basic overview of both EE and EESP.

    Good luck for the future.

Weightwatchers have a new plan out, thank goodness its them and not us, I didn't enjoy all that last time.

Have a fabulous time in France Denise, wish I was going for the cheese and wine alone.

True Maman I'm sure my commitment to going every week will pay off in the long run.

That's my total fave BEG Cottage cheese gets a raw deal from people but I love it.

Sounds like you are more controlled CP and accountable for what you ate and making choices and decisions rather than just eating everything which is great!!

Oh my goodness it is to be hoped she can rally a good social team to support her.

    B_e_g

I'm a little worried about that, our social team is a bit hit and miss whether they turn up already. Who knows what will happen with a new consultant. Expecting some very long lines to weigh in!

Today's plan. This may change based on shopping, which I'll be doing shortly...
Breakfast - Arla Protein, berries and grapenuts (HEB + 1 syn)
Lunch - Leftover sausages (1/2 syn each - not sure how many I'll be having) and salad
Dinner - Pulled pork, speedy mash and veg

Need to fit a HEA in there, may have a treat coffee while I'm out. I always count the small as HEA, syn rebel! :p:rotfl:

    Morning all :)

Had a hectic day yesterday and didn't get chance to post all day, then when I had time later on, my iPad had a flat battery - I'd plugged it in during the day, but hadn't switched on the socket!

DH and I went to a carol singing get together with mulled wine, mince pies and stollen, so a few extra Syns were consumed. That will probably be my one and only mince pie of the season though and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Today we're out for a Christmas lunch so I'm skipping breakfast and shouldn't need much if anything later. That's the last meal out we've got planned until the big day, so plenty of time to get back on track to reach my target for this challenge.

Beg - how is your Mum? Are you still staying with her?

Denise - have a lovely time in France.

Lantanna - I used to eat cottage cheese all the time until I had a stomach upset after eating it and it put me off it so much I haven't eaten it since! I don't think it caused the upset, that was a bug that went round the office, it was just coincidence that the last thing I'd eaten was cottage cheese and ryvita. _pale_

Welcome back tazzyb, you'll get plenty of good advice from this lovely lot. 😄

Shala - I don't envy your task of keeping up with the thread come January, it will be interesting to see how many of the new joiners are still with us next year.

Have a good day everyone, try to avoid all the festive temptations that are lurking with evil intentions. :rotfl:

You'll soon get the hang of it tazzy. EESP is really only meant as a boost so you can forget about that if you want. Personally it's just made me more conscious of watching my carb portions. The changes you do need to be aware of are the fruits that have disappeared from the old SF (now Speed) list. I think they're probably the more sugary ones.

Your day sounds very British lois. Do the Spanish have mince pies?

Yes. Have great time denise. I'm very envious. Will you be touring or staying on one site?

I'm another cottage cheese lover but not tried it on toast yet. It's because DH always makes our breakfast and to make it easy for him the SW friendly list he works from always includes my HEB as toast or cereal. It's a good trade off to get breakfast in bed every day!;)

I love cottage cheese on a JP with spring onion sliced into it (much tastier than buying the chive one ready made IMO) and then beetroot on the side.

I've had my SW breakfast (toast and 2 boiled eggs). Will report back later on how lunch goes:). We're going to the hotel near 'Downton Abbey' where the cast stay when filming.
