Hello everyone one. Back here after a year yo yoing the same three pounds followed by a trip to Florida for my holidays in October which well and truly knocked me off the SW wagon.
Weighed myself this morning and I was 16.13 so I have put on 4 lb in the last 3 weeks! Lost 6 stone in my first year doing SW at home want another 4 stone off. Have been doing SW online but it's time to go to classes which I will join in the New Year.
Sure there will be some names I remember from last year when I was active here, and lots of lovely new people for me to meet.
Today's menu
Breakfast - 2 x Alpen light, banana, orange, fat free yoghurt
lunch - veg and lentil soup, Apple, diet coke
Tea - omlette, salad, laughing cow triangle x 2, frozen berries, yoghurt, mini meringues
Snacks melon, apples, oranges
Hea - milk in coffee, 2 x lc
Heb - 2 x Alpen light
Syns - 4 mini meringues, 2 sauce
Also going to force 1.5 litres of water down and do 15 mins excercise.0 -
Hello everyone,
Not posted this week, but as always have been reading. It is a sts for me this week. Not sure what's going on, as I don't think I did anything different food wise from the week before where I lost 3lbs. I have scrutinised the food I've eaten, and so far as I can see there is nothing there to tip the balance.
Positive news - I swam 3 miles this week (not all at once but in total).:D. I also went to a Zumba class, which nearly killed me due to an existing condition. It was fun, but I physically can't manage at present. However, despite not losing this week I do feel better for the exercise. I wonder if it's the old argument that because I have started exercising with a vengeance my body is in an adjustment stage and the muscle tone is beginning to increase ie muscle weighs more then fat?
I have written down a goal for me to reach, and sealed it in an envelope with the date on it. I haven't decide when it is to be achieved, not sure this matters as it is a helpful aide for me that has worked in the past. I will let you all know!
Keep going everyone.

Well done Arkers and Horseykaz on being joint SOTW:T.
Arkers - if you've only just started to exercise after not doing any for a while it's probably water retention as your body tends to hang on to a bit of water to protect your muscles to start with. I don't know if you have already measured yourself but if not it's probably a good idea and then those weeks when you don't lose you can check your measurements and it may well be because you have lost some inches rather than weight, as of course, our bodies also change shape while we're losing weight.
Well done to all the losers and hugs to anyone who needs them.
No need to go shopping today as I'm using up stuff from fridge and freezer this week before going on holiday. Hoping to empty my outside one completely by Thursday so that I can defrost it properly before leaving on Friday afternoon.
Today will be another EE day:
B - toasted bacon & mushroom sandwich with scrape of butter & brown sauce (HEB + 2.5)
L - jacket potato with prawn mayo (1 Tbs LTL mayo); lettuce, cucumber, spring onions, pickled onions, pickled beetroot, cornichons (0.5)
D - Hairy Bikers braised steak with gravy; mashed potato, green veg from freezer (not sure what's left in there at the mo!). Using up some rump steak which seems to have been cut the "wrong way" so doesn't fry well but is great braised or stewed.
For a change it looks a half decent meal plan considering it's using up bits and pieces which need to be used rather than dumping them. Definitely looking forward to the HB steak.

Morning all
Thanks for the chart Shala and well done to the joint SOTWs :TCountingPennies wrote: »Well went to group as planned. I'm not sure what happened, but I wore different clothes (jeans when I usually wear leggings) and the scales are showing -1 for me please Shala.I just don't get it and I most certainly don't deserve it. My friends say it could be to do with my job (working 12 hours with a 1 hour break, and constantly running round the restaurant as its so busy), but I still did really bad. I'm really happy, but feel guilty!
No need to feel guilty, give yourself a pat on the back!
If you weigh your jeans you'll probably find they weigh a couple of pounds so you've probably lost 3lbs. :T.
Yesterday's meal out was nothing to write home about - I had salad to start followed by lentil soup and you could see the oil/fat floating on the top. It wasn't hot enough either, the Spanish aren't as keen on having their food hot like we Brits are! The main course was described as roast lamb, but it wasn't quite what I was hoping for, the lamb looked like thinly sliced leg steaks with a lot of bone and fat. They were served with boiled potatoes and no vegetables! Good job we had the salad starter.
Well done to all the losers and commiserations if you're struggling - as Beanie says, keep plodding, you'll get there in the end.
Have a good day everyone.

Totally lost the plot.
Too much going on on the emotional front.
My laptop has gone to laptop heaven and can't afford a new one.

Arkers - It takes quite a lot of weight bearing exercise to actually gain muscle, especially as women - which I'm assuming most of us here are. What is more likely the cause is that your muscles are retaining water to support/repair themselves due to the new stress you're placing on them. But you're right, it's probably just an adjustment period!
Today...
Breakfast - Arla Protein, summer fruits, all bran and choc shot latte (1/2 HEB1, 1/2 HEA, 1.5 syns)
Lunch - Pulled pork wrap and grapefruit (HEB2 + maybe 0.5 syns for scrape of mayo, if I use it)
Dinner - I have white fish and butternut squash to use up, so I'm thinking something along the lines of this curry. Will just leave out the coconut milk as I don't have any and also to make it SW friendly, not a massive fan of creamy curries anyway.
Pudding - Hifi light (1/2 HEB1)0 -
Not looking forward to wi but I'm going, looking at it I really only got 3 days on plan done. But so what I am trying I have made a commitment to going so I will be there with my red face and all.:o0

june - thanks for this link. Quite like the look of that curry. I often use butternut squash in curry but usually with red lentils & spinach, so a good choice for a Green day (which of course SW are no longer promoting but won't stop me having one every so often!). I don't know if you know but you can get a coconut spray oil which is only 1 syn per spray the same as Frylight! I often use this when I make a curry.
I don't like very creamy curries but do occasionally use coconut milk but only 100ml per curry. I use a 500ml tin of Light coconut milk and freeze in a silicon muffin "tin" in 100ml lots so I get 5 curries from one tin. The 100ml just gives a very slight creaminess which I quite like. Might be worth a try.

Morning all! Never made the gym this morning as my decorator was an hour late so had to wait in for him. I'd heard about a bad accident so knew he would be late. Ended up washing skirting boards and doing housework so thats gotta help right??
Haven't had breakfast so having an early lunch (be ready in 5 minutes).
Plan is something like this:
Breakfast: Big glass of water with a dash of squash (no pepsi max)
Lunch: New potatoes, egg whites, beetroot, lean ham, turkey, beetroot, pickled onions and some salad cream.
Tea: Mince and dumplings with sw chips
Snacks: A bowl of shreddies at some point (HEA and HEB), fruit and hi-fi bar
Syns are the salad cream, hi-fi bar, dumplings and gravy.
Thats the plan anyway.....
