I think you'll need to syn one of those wiz. Sorry I didn't read it earlier.:)

You sound a bit more positive today CP. Do you tend to binge in the evening? I'm asking because I know people who get into PJs and/or go to bed early to stop themselves going to the shop.

Have you tried the stroganoff recipe lantanna? I'd like a good one as DH and I have enjoyed mushroom stroganoff in restaurants but I've never tried it at home.

Two 'old' friends returned to group this morning. One recently went to try WW but didn't like weighing food and couldn't get SW ways out of her head. The other started the same time as me but never managed more than a stone. There were issues like IBS and a kitchen out of action for a while but I think she just needed to focus more.

We had the 'Christmas conversation'. I liked the idea that most events are just one meal at a time so there's no need to write off the whole of December. I'm going to try to have as many SP meals, especially lunches, as I can between festivities.

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS Grapefruit, HEB Puffed Wheat, HEA milk
L: lentil and veg soup again!!
D: baked haddock, cauli cheese, new potatoes, carrots
Syns: cheese sauce (haddock is very small piece so it's a sort of Green day with some milk/cheese offset;))
  • Good evening - -3lb for me this week please Shala. I'd like to think it's cos I've done better this week, but probably partly due to being back at normal group and WI is a different day/time - still a loss is a loss, so I'll take it :).

Lantanna - glad you like your new group as the consultant can make such a difference - realised this last couple of weeks when I went to a different group for WI - it had a very different vibe, even though the format was quite similar.

CP - Sorry your finding it tough at the moment. Don't know if it would help to think how would you'd support a friend who'd told you they were bingeing - as sometimes we're kinder in the way we talk to others than when we talk to ourselves. Hope you figure things out soon.

Hope everyone has a good week - only three more weeks left to lose a bit more for Santa:rotfl:

Thanks everyone.... I actually don't stock the binge stuff in the house. I buy the kids snack stuff that I don't like. I just end up going to the shop and buying it then coming home and eating it. I'm trying to get back on plan today.... sort of. Currently have some SW chips in my actify, gonna do a cheese omelette with it then speed it up with beetroot. Need to keep away from the shop which should be easy today as I'm not at work (there is a b&m next to where I work).

I can't keep my favourites in the house, I learnt that with CBT years ago. Not replacing the kids selection boxes I ate last week till just before christmas as I never know when its going to hit me. I don't even keep sweets in the house for the kids are they don't get sweets/pop until a weekend, something I've done for years. Unless its the holidays and then i might let them have some through the week if they are behaving. I'm lucky in the sense that they love fruit, yoghurts and cheese snacks and they consider all of them a treat. The kids have never seen me binge. I worry that they see my clutch with food and pass it on to them.

    Anyway... enough rambling on!

Not planning my meals today. I'm going back to taking it one step at a time, one meal at a time, till I'm in a better place in my head, if that makes sense.

Thanks for all the kind words. My leader knows about my binge problem but she is on 3 weeks off (1 more week to go). I think this is my problem. I won't text her as she is on holiday but she is incredibly supportive and I know once she is back she will be straight in to help me in and will not judge me at all. Its so good to find a class that works for me.

    Thanks everyone.

    CP xx

Looks like you are having a hard time, I hadn't realised that you were refraining from stocking the cupboards.

I wonder if it is the sugar you are craving?
If so, you could try weaning yourself off sugar bit by bit, hopefully within a year or so, you might not like the taste of sugar?

I must admit, I love fruit tea this helped me dislike sugar.
(Twinings, London Herb & spice company or Lidl Very Berry) are nice tea's.

    Wishing you success CP

Maman - haven't tried the recipe but the one on the 5-2 diet website works out about 1 syn per portion - just uses 1 Tbs of reduced fat creme fraische per portion.

Good evening all  Hope the day went well.

Someone brought a tub of celebrations into work today. I looked them up, and at 2 syns each I decided to treat myself to one with my afternoon coffee. And you know what? It wasn't worth it at all!! At least I've learned my lesson though - won't be making that mistake again!

Sorry to hear you're having a hard time of it at the moment CP. From what you've said though, you've been here before - that means you've got through it before - and that means you'll get through it again :)

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who has replied.... Including you Maman and HorseyKaz but for some reason your quote isn't above?? Can you only quote a certain amount of post?

Anyway, yes I'm feeling a little more positive today. Haven't done brilliant, but done MUCH better. Just had some cereal for my supper and walked the dog.

Tired now. Will post tomorrow. Just didn't want to read and run.
