Hugs CP and anyone else who needs one.

Breakfast - French toast, berries and coffee (HEB1 + 1/2 HEA)
Lunch - Baked eggs and ratatouille
Dinner - SW caribbean pepperpot stew

For the stew, I'm replacing the sweet potato with BNS to make it SP friendly. Still need to use the rest of my HEs (as usual) but I always manage it between snacks and pudding. :D
  • Morning!

Today is looking to be very similar to yesterday with lots of leftovers.

    B - 1 x hifi, clementine, activia
    S - 1 x hifi (heb)
    L - Eden project soup
    S - banana, activia, rice cake (2)
D - tuna pasta bake (hea), ff greek yoghurt, berries
    E - popcorn (4), kitkat (5.5)

Has anyone tried the Powters Skinny Pig sausages? Hoping to pick some up in Tesco tomorrow.

I went to weigh in last night dreading it as I have been nibbling ryvita and slivers of edam (er chunks) etc. Plus too many syns during the week.

    I actually lost half a pound :j

Find it helps if I have lots of yoghurts and fruit and veg etc in the house so bought some last night after weigh in.

I probably had fifty syns last night so plan to stick to free foods and SF as much as I can over the next few days.

I did walk quickly past the chippy and had chicken and gherkins instead.

Counting Pennies, just keep trying. You have some sort of control in that you are not happy with yourself after it. So it will kick in again at some stage, just cruise along for now doing the best that you can.

I'm running my chocolate supplies down, not buying anymore. That's a big mistake I've made this year trying to be MSE and stock up on funsize stuff when on offer. My Brother in Law may well end up with a shoebox full of fun size items for xmas :rotfl:

If I don't have it I wont eat it.

I went to bed last night early and woke up nearly going to scrounge around the cupboards and didn't due to the thought of facing the scales next week. If was still weighing at home I would have eaten it for sure, so hoping it works.

Going straight to the gym after work and making a big speedy omelette for dinner with beans.

After weighing myself on my scales it looked like it was only a small gain (1/2 lb) so decided I would weigh at group this morning. It was actually a bit better with a STS:D.

This weekend is likely to be very synful again as off to a wedding on Saturday and have no idea what food will be available but planning on having a big SW breakfast before leaving (need to leave about 1ish as a bit of travelling to do, wedding is actually at 2.45pm. There is a free bar as well so will try not to have too much wine!

Maybe it's time to stop stocking the binge foods, probably cakes, biscuits, chocolate and crisps CP.
I know that not having them around, and creating new habits like:
eating more free foods like Salad, boiled eggs, Fish & Fruit replaced the need for this junk food (Okay, I was not a huge fan of them anyway).

Wishing you many beneficial habits, hope this helps you :)
Keep the faith, you can do it!

Thanks everyone.... I actually don't stock the binge stuff in the house. I buy the kids snack stuff that I don't like. I just end up going to the shop and buying it then coming home and eating it. I'm trying to get back on plan today.... sort of. Currently have some SW chips in my actify, gonna do a cheese omelette with it then speed it up with beetroot. Need to keep away from the shop which should be easy today as I'm not at work (there is a b&m next to where I work).

I can't keep my favourites in the house, I learnt that with CBT years ago. Not replacing the kids selection boxes I ate last week till just before christmas as I never know when its going to hit me. I don't even keep sweets in the house for the kids are they don't get sweets/pop until a weekend, something I've done for years. Unless its the holidays and then i might let them have some through the week if they are behaving. I'm lucky in the sense that they love fruit, yoghurts and cheese snacks and they consider all of them a treat. The kids have never seen me binge. I worry that they see my clutch with food and pass it on to them.

    Anyway... enough rambling on!

Not planning my meals today. I'm going back to taking it one step at a time, one meal at a time, till I'm in a better place in my head, if that makes sense.

Thanks for all the kind words. My leader knows about my binge problem but she is on 3 weeks off (1 more week to go). I think this is my problem. I won't text her as she is on holiday but she is incredibly supportive and I know once she is back she will be straight in to help me in and will not judge me at all. Its so good to find a class that works for me.

    Thanks everyone.

    CP xx

Yeah MSE in the long run Meg!

    Beef Stroganoff Recipe anyone??

The recipe on the website looks a little strange to me, not sure where the sauce is coming from and it has gherkins in it!

    ingredients

    • 380g lean fillet steak
    • 2 onions
    • 1 garlic clove
    • 280g button mushrooms
    • Low calorie cooking spray
    • A pinch of grated nutmeg
    • 8 level tbsp reduced fat crème fraîche
    • 8 tbsp fat-free natural yogurt
    • 2 tbsp chopped gherkins
    • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
    • Freshly chopped parsley
    method

    1. Prepare the ingredients: place the steak between two sheets of cling film, flatten with a rolling pin and cut into thin strips; finely chop the onions; crush the garlic and halve the mushrooms.
    2. Heat a frying pan sprayed with low calorie cooking spray, add the onions and garlic and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes. Add the mushrooms, nutmeg and steak and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the steak is cooked to your liking.
    3. Mix the crème fraîche with the yogurt and stir into the beef mixture along with the gherkins and heat through (do not boil). Season well and serve immediately sprinkled with freshly chopped parsley.

Lantanna - the sauce come from the creme fraiche & yoghurt mix. You would need to do this on a very low heat otherwise it will split and/or curdle and look horrible (but will still be edible!). Personally I'd rather syn some more creme fraiche or single cream than use yoghurt - don't think I've ever been able to heat it without splitting/curdling!

I don't think the gherkins are necessary - certainly never seen them in any other stroganoff recipe.

I used to do a mushroom stroganoff on a Green day but not done it for a while. Think I might add one to my menu plan in January if I can get some nice mushrooms (mixed mushrooms are best).

Yeah it always splits on me too which is why I'm not keen on using it. Might look for some reduced fat sour cream and syn it. I always see people using fat free yogurt in lots of things but I personally can't seem to cook with it
