Shala, I'm sorry that I forgot to post :o

I never made it to fat club on Monday. I was cold, wind blown and soaked through to the skin having walked home from work thanks to the buses being their usual reliable selves and not having the car.

I am trying hard to make a go of it this week :)

    Hi all

congrats to the SOTW well done and also to all those who have lost this week, not to forget all those who have won slimmer of the month at their groups.

shala can you put me down for 1.5lbs lost this week please.

Not quite sure how I managed a loss as I have had a stinking cold all week and also have been munching on cakes like no-one's business as it is also star week - great combination - not!!!

Anyway off to put DS2 to bed and then think I will turn in myself as I am nearly asleep here.

    Hiya :)

Had a lovely meal out with friends today, the starter was spiced beef skewers with a salad garnish, which was delicious with no sign of any oil so I'm assuming it was free. The main course sounded healthy on the menu - oriental fish with rice and vegetables - sadly the fish was in breadcrumbs and covered in sweet chilli sauce. I tried to scrape as much sauce and crumbs off as I could but quite a lot remained. Breakfast was an orange and all I'll have tonight is ryvita (Heb) and laughing cow (hea) and a glass of wine as I didn't drink earlier.

The rest of the week will be strictly on plan - the next meal out is another Christmas dinner on the 10th.

Well done everyone who has lost weight and hugs to anyone that's struggling.

Evening all - half way through the week :)

I'm not planning to stay on plan over xmas, but I am planning to try and be as sensible as possible. Ordinarily I would be at the roses tin every 5 minutes, won't be doing that! Will allow myself the occasional treat though I think - will be happy if I can maintain over Christmas. Trying to be as good as possible between now and then though :A Hopefully it will all balance out...

I went to Asda last night, and was buying some of their own brand fizzy pop. I was looking at their 'zero' range, and happened to notice that their 'zero orangeade' has more calories and sugar than their regular orangeade! How mad is that! Admittedly both were still very low (and I didn't end up buying either!) but it just seemed bizarre to me.

That's so weird! I went to have a look at the ingredients as I was curious. The "normal" orangeade is actually a diet drink with flavourings and sweeteners but not labelled on the front as such. The "zero" contains a small amount of real (reconstituted) juice which is why it does have some sugars in it. I probably would have bought the zero based purely on the front labels, so I might be checking a bit more closely in future! Although I rarely drink fizz anyway.

Maybe it's time to stop stocking the binge foods, probably cakes, biscuits, chocolate and crisps CP.
I know that not having them around, and creating new habits like:
eating more free foods like Salad, boiled eggs, Fish & Fruit replaced the need for this junk food (Okay, I was not a huge fan of them anyway).

Wishing you many beneficial habits, hope this helps you :)
Keep the faith, you can do it!

CP - agree with Smedley - the best way to get out of the binging is to not buy the foods which are causing the problem - cakes, sweets, chocs etc. Don't throw in the towel keep on plodding you'll get there in the end.

It's WI for me this morning but still undecided whether to weigh or not - will jump on my scales just before leaving and make a decision, although I think I'm still within target range as my trousers don't feel in the least bit tight and yesterday's jeans were decidedly loose - I kept having to pull them up as they were slipping down onto my hips!

Having a leftovers EE day today:

B - banana after WI (assuming I weigh!) I know it's not Speed but it's the only fruit I've got which is easy to eat whilst selling raffle tickets
L - LO lentil and veg soup
D - chicken curry (made at the beginning of the week with LO roast and then frozen). Will serve with rice - bad planning on my part as we'll be having rice 2 days running. Didn't even notice that when I was menu planning but never mind it won't hurt us!

HEA will be milk in tea
HEB - not sure but possibly some Ryvita & butter this evening but will mean syns for the butter

Back later if I do decide to weigh.

  • Hugs CP I had a horrible bingey 3 days last week and it's so hard to get back on track but after the 1st day it gets easier. I always feel worse after a bad binge but sort of can't stop myself either it's a real vicious circle. I'd agree with the others and get rid of all the bad snacky stuff because you can't eat what's not there.

Yesterday was a bingey day for me too, I didn't plan it like that as I'd had a gain - but ended up eating a corned beef pie and half a packet of cream crackers with primula (which I'd been craving for weeks - nowhere near as yum as I remember what a waste ), there was also biscuits and chocolate eaten and other stuff I choose to forget :D

B17c - yep all the time :D I feel quite skinny this morning as I've only eaten an apple so far but no doubt when I undress in front of the mirror in a while and catch sight of my rolls I'll think otherwise

    Today's food will be:

    B - porridge & fruit
L - subway salad, probably chicken tikka as I'm addicted to it
T - diet coke pork with veg (was supposed to be last night's tea but after all the snacking I didn't fancy it and had a fruit salad instead

Tomorrow we're christmas shopping in Durham which I'm ridiculously excited about so lunch might be off-plan it depends if we can find a healthy-ish place to eat. Last time we went there was pre-SW and we headed straight for the chippy, will need an immense amount of self control to not do that this time ..

    Have a fab day everyone
