    Evening :)

Happy Friday everyone! Hope no-ones fallen victim to any Black Friday fracas!

Sorry I've been quiet, I have been reading but had a busy couple of days and didn't get time to write a message. A couple we are good friends with here had bad news from the uk and had to pack everything up at short notice and head for home, and we've been trying to support them as much as we could.

Just read the thread back to front (starting with the last post) and it was quite comical reading about giant sprouts claiming benefits, I wondered what it could possibly be about! It makes sense now - the sprouts have grown extra large because of the mild weather. I also heard that said weather had caused cauliflowers to reach their peak a month early, which could cause shortages in December, as the farmers haven't got time to get another crop going. They also said they didn't know what they were going to do with them, I just hope they don't throw them away.

Sad to hear about the SW winner who regained the weight, and shocked how quickly she did it. I've also tried WW and their Filling and Healthy plan is very similar to SW. In some ways it's more strict - you can't have white rice or normal pasta, it has to be brown rice and wholewheat pasta, but you can eat crumpets, certain types of bread and WW pitta - as much as you like. I quite like their online food tracker, but you have to pay to use it.

I feel for her wanting her life to be about something other than weight loss - I often feel like listing SW as one of my hobbies! :rotfl:

I'm a lot better btw - the antibiotics are doing their thing and I'm back to eating normally.

    Have a great weekend everyone.

Can I join please? I've done WW before in 2010 and lost over 4 stone but gradually put most of it back on. Then SW in 2010 and lost 2.5 stone but put it all back on.
I'm sort of loosely following SW as haven't got my head around it yet and not joined up as yet.
Started on 13th Nov and lost 3lbs by 20th and 2lbs by today. Had been aiming for 8lbs by Xmas.
If I'm too late, I'll lurk and join in Jan.

Reporting a 2.5lb loss this morning. I did end up staying to group and got slimmer of the month! Bit surprised as I never get SOTW due to big losses by other members but I guess they're not losing consistently. So a nice sparkly sticker for my book. :D

    EE today...
Breakfast - Hifi Light (1/2 HEB) and fruit at group
Lunch - Turkey and salad (this mix has lasted forever!)
Dinner - Nacho Feast (SW recipe, HEA)
Pudding - Another hifi. Maybe some frozen yoghurt (5 syns)

  • Hello, I have a question!

I noticed on the supermarket today that Aunt Bessie does frozen Carrot and Swede Mash which is 0.5 syns per 100g, because it has butter in I guess. Would this still count as speed? Trying to work out whether it would be better to use some of that or to mash sweet potatoes (with no added butter) on top of a shepherd's pie ... as far as I remember sweet potatoes are not speed... ???
