    Shala

    I'm drinking loads now
. Currently drinking Sainsburys NAS White Grape and Peach high juice and its lush. May open a sf sparkling fruity water tomorrow.

Can tolerate the odd hot drink now

    I think that's my downfall too!!:rotfl:

I've been a bit off plan today, mostly wine syns but also my lunch. We went to an Italian and although it was tomato based with pancetta and chicken I think there was some cream and oil in there too.

Oddly enough, I do feel thinner but maybe that's clean jeans plus one.:D

I'm just going to do a beanie, keep plodding and hope for the best:). Another off plan meal tomorrow but at least the wine syns will be on plan as it's the weekend!:T

Thanks for the curry paste recipe denise. I need to buy in a few more spices first and then I'll be back for more advice on how to use it.:o

I think my DH will cope with some SP meals. He absolutely loves swede so a swede and carrot mash in place of potato will please him. So I'm thinking a cottage pie and maybe sausage and mash. He rarely has lunch with me so he can have his sandwiches or toast and I can have SP soups or omelettes. Then I'm thinking I'll buy extra carrots this week so when I have my meat with fried LO veg and pickles, carrots will help to make it more substantial instead of relying on potatoes. So with HEXs, eggs and beans making up most breakfasts I'm hoping for a fairly SP week ahead:).

That was a sad story lantanna about the lady who put all the weight back on. She must be devastated. I must say I'm surprised but I can see how you feel good as you've only put on a small amount and that's largely down to the effects of gall stone problem. For me, eating SW has genuinely become a way of life. It's healthy, it's organised, very mse as it fits beautifully with meal planning. I just wanted to say to b-e-g and all of you when get to target that although I whinge a lot it's not that bad keeping at target really. Personally I just juggle extra syns but the SW advice (I think) is to have extra HEXs.

Just a quick post this morning as have loads to do before going away this afternoon for the weekend. Will definitely be an off plan weekend and will have to rein as much back next week as I can!

    Today's plan will be EE

    B - mushroom omlette
L - proba ly ham salad sandwich, mayo instead of spread (got to save syns where I can, lol)
D - rabbit stew - cooked overnight in slow cooker last night

    HEA - 1% milk
    HEB - bread

Syns - mayo, wine, hopefully nothing else today as will need loads for tomorrow's mulled wine and mince pie do!

Think she is a binge eater Maman, finds it hard to control binges and they could last up to a week. She had actually lost 14 stone in total and her GP had referred her for weightloss surgery. She was to stay at her target for 2 years before they would do it for her on the NHS. Sadly she will have to start again with that 2 year maintenance again when she gets to target. She has actually joined WW now which is interesting. I guess a lot of us go through the same emotions with losing weight and maintaining weight loss.

I agree with you maintaining isn't so difficult as long as you don't take your eye completely of the ball with it. Its retaining the good habits and not letting the bad ones sneak back in, whilst enjoying yourself sensibly  Sensibly with wine :) etc

Hope everyone that is feeling under the weather starts to feel better soon, seems to be a lot doing the rounds.

Oh Shala, your comment about the work trousers reminds me of my school skirt after the summer holidays :eek: Always told a tale ........ a tight tale lol :rotfl:

Hi all, sorry I haven't posted or even read back for a few weeks.

I've been feeling ill, eating out of control and gaining weight, and on Monday this week I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. It's not a shock, frankly, because of family history and my weight and eating habits, but it is a shock in a way, if you know what I mean!

I think if there was ever a good time to be told something like this, then now is a good time for me. I had fallen back into old habits and stopped exercising, although I'm still 2 stones lighter than this time last year. So being told I have this condition now has maybe saved me from gaining all I lost and then more, as I need to try to control the diabetes by diet.

I will be honest and say I know I can't stick to a diet very well. I can do it fairly well part of the time and if I exercise I will lose weight, but I tend to go off the rails and binge eat, and I feel a bit helpless with that. I'll talk to the diabetic nurse about it when I have my big "how to live with this" appointment.

I have made good changes to my diet already with SW and will now tweak things further. I've discovered I like black tea! That's a bit of a surprise given that I love creamy coffee. I read on diabetes.uk that black tea is now known to be very good for diabetics so will drink that as my usual hot drink and have a creamy coffee (synned!) as a treat now and again.

I think the main problem for me is consistency. I'm very Jekyll and Hyde with my eating, either reasonably good or extremely bad.

If anyone else lives with type 2 and does SW I'd love any tips you have. Do carby free foods such as wholegrain basmati (I've invested in some, not very MSE but I need to get myself sorted diet wise) need to be restricted? How does the free food thing work for diabetics?

Hope you are all doing well and apologies for being so self absorbed :o xx

Shala, I'm not sure if you have me on the chart as I've been missing for a bit, but if I'm still there would you put me down for +5lbs since I last reported in? It was more but I've lost a bit again since... complicated or what?!

Has anyone else seen the "eat more, lose more" diet on Good Morning Britain?

I just saw a little of but it seems a lot like SW.

  • 2lb gain for me this week Shala.

Losing my way a little at the moment. This week has been a funny one with all the appointments etc to do with Dad's estate (and of course adjusting to life without him) plus trying to use up the freezer food (new one coming today). I was about to write that I'll draw a line under my little gain and make a fresh start on Monday, then remembered I have lunch dates with friends on Mon, Tue and Wed. Hmm. Was out for tea (!) with another friend last night and she said, "Oh give yourself a break until the new year" but I know I can easily put back on this stone I've worked hard to lose. So I'm going to say I'll start again from Monday, ignoring any meals out I have next week. Then the Monday after I'm back to work and normality so it'll be easier to stick to.

What I WOULD like to do next week whilst I have time and an empty freezer, is some batch cooking. Soups, bolognese and curry are all on the agenda ... what else freezes well?

Sorry for the long, self-centred ramble. Hope everyone else is doing well, hugs all round x

Sorry about your loss Tete... well done for being determined. It's not easy with the things life throws at us! Enjoy the lunch dates, it'll be good to spend that time with your friends.

School's closed today so I have a day at home. I'm going to keep myself busy tidying and rearranging the living room/dining room area today. When I get off my backside, that is! I need to clear off the treadmill and dust it off for regular exercise now.
