Morning all
Thanks for the chart Shala and well done Dillon for SOTW. :T
Meg - I tried the pink slaw and wasn't that keen - it lacks something (probably Mayo!) - and its quite a small container, not worth the money IMO.
Lantanna - a few people have told me they have the same thing with their sensitive teeth, but the glands are up on that side of my face so I'm convinced there's something else going on. My appointment is in an hour so I'll find out more then.
Beg - pleased to hear your Mum is home and on the mend, she's lucky to have you. And well done for the new number on the scales. :j
That lemon drizzle cake looks nice, and Tete en l'air's melting middle cake has got me fancying something naughty but nice. Good job Spanish cakes aren't great!
Have a good day everyone.
LL
Thanks Lois have decided to try and make my own I have a jar of pickled cabbage, carrots and onions so will have a go later.Slimming World at target0 -
:T to all losers. Looking at the chart I think we're doing really well.
Sorry to hear about the tummy bug plan lantanna. Hope it works!;)Thanks all,
I just thought it was important to discuss these experiences. SW don't give adequate advice on this plateau subject, even when writing to them, I am sure when they hear the word 'plateau', SW put their fingers in their ears and shout loudly: "la la la la la la la!".
I think you're right there smedley. I have to say it's much the same with being at target. Then there's what lantanna was saying about disregarding the fact that vegetarians particularly (or the many people who eat small meat portions) would be far better served by the Green plan. I think this is where this thread helps because we're not restricted by working for SW like consultants so we can try tweaks and share what's worked for us whether it's the official line or not.Another EE day today - was going to do SP until I realised I've got some tinned potatoes to use up!
Same here. I'll be using up tinned potatoes too!:)
Today's EE plan:
B: NAS Grapefruit., baked beans, HEB toast, HEA milk for teas
L: fried potatoes, egg, mushrooms, tomato and spring onionsAustrian Hash (onions, celery, mushrooms, and can't remember what else??) with cabbage
Syns: scrape of spread, chorizo (3?) and maybe some 70%0 -

Completely agree with both Smedley and Maman. I don't feel I get any of the support at Group that I do on here. I only go to group to see the friends I've made and so I've got access to the website.
I still can't see anything on the website about stopping the Red and Green plans completely. At least at the moment they still have the Red/Green diaries. I've still got a paper diary sheet for these so will make sure I keep a supply of them for the days when I want to do Green/Red days. I'm also going to go back through my old books and make sure I've got a list of the HEBs for both - I know roughly what I can have but have trouble remembering the amounts of each kind of fish or meat and that sort of thing.
Was feeling a bit peckish so have just demolished a bowl of strawberries with sweetened quark. That should keep me going for the next hour or so until I do my lunch.

I can see why SW are stopping promoting the plans, it must have been confusing for new members to have to choose between three plans. I am reasonably new in terms of following SW, but I'd researched the plans before so knew what was what. But several of the members who joined the same week I did looked a bit overwhelmed just trying to understand EE.
My consultant wasn't too happy that I decided to stay on SP for more than a week (she didn't outright object, but was concerned it would be too low carb) but it's what I feel healthy and happy on, so I just continue on. As I've said before, I'll have non-SP foods if I fancy them. Certainly not depriving myself!
So today is another SP day...
Breakfast - Apple and mincemeat baked oats (double HEB) with coffee (1/2 HEA)
Lunch - Leftover chilli with cheese (1/2 HEA)
Dinner - Pork stir-fry (5 syns for sauce, assuming I use the whole packet)
Pudding - Lemon drizzle (1/2 syn - didn't end up having this yesterday)0 -
Good to see you posting again BEG.
:wave::wave::wave:Romping to target BEG!!! :T
It is great to see 11 something on those SW scales lantanna and I am pretty sure my target weight will start with an 11 but I have too much on atm to try and work out target weight and think it will be much easier to keep on doing what I am doing for now especially with the festive season nearly upon us and once its all over I will have a serious think of where I want to be. Cannot cope with the stress of trying to keep at target but am over the moon that the end of the long dark tunnel is now visible.Hope you are feeling much better.
Beg - pleased to hear your Mum is home and on the mend, she's lucky to have you. And well done for the new number on the scales. :j
She is marvellous Lois and it is the least we can do for her after all she has done (and still does for us) over the years. I was like a kid jumping for joy last night when that 11 appeared :rotfl:
Will catch up with everyone else later. We have been waiting for District Nurse to visit - I called to make sure we are down for a visit and they aren't coming out til Friday . Pleased something was telling me to ring them to check to see when they were coming :rotfl:
Nipping through to Morries and Sainsbobs to see if I can there are any fab offers. Morries have 5% fat mince £4 (3 for £10) and brisket of beef £5 a kilo.
Not had chance to look in Sainsbobs for the Nectar double up do dah either and I think that finishes today.
Bye for now

Very quick post from me today, the animals are hungry and I'm getting a bit worried that the cat will eat me if I don't produce dinner soon:)
2.5 lbs off please Shala.
While I don't post often I do read every morning (on the bus) and think I would have given up by now with all your support so thank you all:beer:0 -

Has to be better than you eating the cat!!:rotfl:
:Twell done on your loss.
You too beg and good to know you're getting close to where you want to be. I think you've been amazing to stick to plan with all you've been through in the past few weeks.:TCertainly not depriving myself!
I think why I'm cross that SW only want to promote EE is that it stops people having the additional HEXs unless they do EESP which isn't (as you've been told) designed for long term use. I joined after EE was introduced but then all the recipes and syn values showed Green and Red so I knew they existed although I rarely do them myself. Plus, they rarely come out and explain things properly it's all presented as 'tricks to monkeys' while I learn things better if I understand how and why they work. I guess it's a commercial decision as they don't want people to know but I find it patronising.
I've come on here to keep myself out of the kitchen. The Austrian hash is all ready to go in the oven and I keep eating bits of it:o.0 -
Well done to all our losers and huge hugs to anyone struggling with it all.
Lovely to see you posting again Maisie and hope you are feeling better now. Hope all other poorlies are on the mend too. Thanks all,

I am realistic, and I know my body is doing whatever it thinks is correct, my body is simply happy at the moment; furthermore I am happy with the overall loss.
My idea behind the break, is to try and get my body in a food metabolism state before SW, by eating more off plan.
I am hoping that when I start SW again in 2 months I might be able to continue losing like I did before the plateau, it kind of makes sense to me at the moment.
This may all be unnecessary, my body might start losing on its own, when it's good and ready. I also see this as a way to socialise over Xmas without being SW conscious, this is my present for religiously following the plan all these months.
I will let you know when I start losing again.
Sounds like you have a plan Smedley.I can see your way of thinking. Dont forget to keep popping in and let us know how things are going.

Aw thanks maman. All the fab support I have had from my SW class/consultant and from all the lovely people on this thread have certainly helped me in getting to where I am now. I know that the real hard work will start when it comes to try and maintain my target weight
Tonight we are having LM RM and RO sausages and a huge tray of roast veggies nom nom

Evening
The dentist did an X-ray which showed that I have an abscess - so much for sensitivity! I think I'll be finding another dentist in the UK. I'm now on antibiotics for a week, so no wine Syns for me. I'm managing to eat more normally though which is a plus.
Regarding the issue of Green and Red days being removed from the SW website, I think EE is a great plan, it's very flexible, you can eat relatively normal meals and it encourages a healthy intake of fruit and vegetables which we're always being told are good for us. When I first joined SW the Green plan was fairly new, before that it was just Red, which is why you sometimes hear it called the Original plan. It took me ages to adapt menus to fit the plan, the extra Hebs were often used to have potatoes with meat and veg, or spaghetti for bolognese on red, and for meat or fish on green, so it makes sense to only have one Heb on EE because you can have those as free food.
Having said that, I still do green and red days when it suits me - today was red so we could have chicken fajitas, and I made Sunday a green day because I was struggling to eat and had toast for breakfast and lunch. So I'm glad I know about them, and I sympathise with vegetarians who probably find green days easier.
Plateauing is another issue - I suppose it depends on the consultant if you go to group. When I attended a group the consultant always asked the members for their advice on individual problems but I was never in that situation in while I was attending so I don't know how useful it was. They also had a very strict plan you could follow for a week which could shift a few pounds and get you to goal if you weren't far off.
I haven't looked for device on the website, have you checked there Smedley?
Anyway, just sharing a few thoughts, hope everyone's having a good week.
