Great news about the job jill, even more motivation the get slim and fabulous!!:T

Hopefully plan tomorrow will be something like this.

    Breakfast: Fruit

Lunch: Cheese (HEA) omelette, sw chips, beetroot and pickles

Tea/Supper: (Working late) Wholemeal thin pizza (HEB and HEA)

Snacks/Syns: Fruit and hi-fi bar (HEB)

If I have done that right then it is a green day, using 2 HEA and HEB. When I looked at the green day hi-fi bar I think it states the chocolate orange hi-fi is only 1 bar for HEB? Is that correct? Maybe I'm not looking properly. I'm tired and its late.

Also Maman do you happen to know if tinned salmon is free on GREEN? I've looked but can't see it. Thinking about looking on fleabay to see if I can find the old plan somewhere. I work better with paper copies :rotfl:
    :rotfl:
    CP xx

No, as far as I know all Hi-Fi bars can be used as a HEB: 2 Light or 1 normal one.

No fish or meat is free on Green as it's essentially a vegetarian plan. So you have to either use it as a HEB or syn it. Canned salmon is 9.5 syns for 100g or 80g for a HEB.

There's a PDF of the Green plan on line which you could print off, it looks like a copy of the old book. It's in useful features if you search for Green plan.

I watched the Doctor programme on BBC. Obviously it was a bit more than weightloss as he had Type 2 diabetes and seemed to think that because he was taking medication then he could eat and drink whatever he liked. They ended up following a very similar diet to EESP. I don't know a great deal about diabetes but would they be able to go back to eating some of the foods the doctor banned (like potatoes or wheat based cereals) once he'd lost the weight he needed from round his middle? For the general public, I think the changes were too drastic and people would give up. I liked the challenge of using door numbers to measure your walking rate.

Thanks for the heads up on the meat meg. Glad you're still enjoying life.:)

Elona - your body can do really weird things at time! eg last week I had a gain of 3lb (which is absolutely massive for me) and a loss of 2lb this week, which I've never done before in 5.5 years of SW! Just stick to plan this week and things will sort themselves out. I generally try to look at my weight over the month rather than week to week but both the last 2 weeks have really surprised me.

Meg - glad life's treating you well. Sounds like things are going well with the new man. Those Asda offers look good but unfortunately I'm trying to empty my freezer at the moment so won't be able to take advantage this time. But please carry on letingt us know when these good deals come up!

Beanie - a STS is better than a gain:). Keep plodding!

Well it's going to be a Green day for me today:

B - porridge made with water; mixed frozen fruit. Going to try a bit of sweetened quark on it this morning as well
L - egg, fried up mash, brussels & peas, a sort of bubble & squeak; beetroot
D - mixed bean goulash, rice
S - 3 Sesame crispbreads spread with garlic & herb flavoured quark

HEA - 300ml 1% milk (DH has decided he doesn't mind it - result - means I can have that extra 50ml a day (just means I have to buy more milk every week now)
    HEB1 - 35g porridge
    HEB2 - crispbreads

    Syns - wine:D

Gosh, thank goodness it's out now then! Have you been ok since? I've heard reports of people still having probs after it has gone.

Yes the pain is something else. The worst attack I ever had, DH called an ambulance as he was convinced I was having a heart attack (this was before they found the stones as it took ages for them to agree to scan me as the docs all kept saying I was too young to get them!) I always said the worst attacks were worse than childbirth!

Well I'm 36 and I was told I was young too but whenever I originally went to the Dr they thought that it might be because it can follow a large weight loss. However I was having symptoms before I lost weight though no were near as bad. I am ok now but I did find it took me a long time to recover from the operation. Mentally the whole thing really effected me and it certainly wasn't the best of years. If I had had it out quickly and not been waiting for so long and not getting progressively worse it would have been much easier. I had additional pains in my pelvis which they did not initially attribute to the gallbladder and I was sent for various scans etc as they suspected an Ovarian tumour etc but it turned out to just be the good old gallbladder misbehaving. It can manifest itself in strange ways which I think is why its not a straightforward diagnosis. In addition to the attacks I had a constant burning and knifing pain in my pelvis 24 / 7 for months. I was on Co - codomol for months which also caused me problems. I had pains after the Op as well and had to make a trip to casualty. I had to take medication for about 8 weeks after to calm all the acid down in my stomach. It was also trial and error with many foods for ages as well. My digestive system plays up frequently and I have issues with certain foods. However overall I am doing much better now. Fingers crossed it doesn't flare up for you it is no fun at all.

Good news about the job Jill, well done.:j
Glad to hear you are enjoying yourself Meg.
Not sure what you saw on Ch4 Shala, I’m annoyed I missed the Ch 4 one now!
Hope your daughter is ok Counting Pennies.
I watched it Lois, I liked it. Comes back to the same thing really doesn’t it........... eat as much veg as you can. I imagine most of us do eat within some sort of window and break it every so often for special occasions / meals out / weekends etc. I expect if you are doing it most of the time it would work just fine. I see even NAS squash was banned and it was water only. That would be too restrictive for me! I liked the door numbers game to Maman. I might play that one with myself some time.
I cooked a couple of BNS the other night and mashed them. Had some last night with Chilli, handy tip to cook them and then keep in the freezer or fridge for times you can't be bothered with much fuss!
Right I have an announcement! I am delighted to say I've lost 2 lbs from last Friday and have seen the lightest number I have seen in a long long long time on the scales this morning. :D Now just to keep it going! Fingers crossed
  • Fabulous Lantanna, well done!

Sorry to hear about your mum Meg, but she went the way we all want to go didn't she?!

    OK, yesterday:

    B - Mullerlight, coffee x4 :o - HExA and 4 syns for sugar
D - Salmon with stir fried grated courgette and mushrooms, soy sauce, 2 satsumas.
T - Nandos butterfly chicken, spicy rice, corn on the cob, 2 tbsp peri-peri sauce, diet coke (6.5 syns)
Then I went into the cinema and forgot myself and ordered a cappuccino (6.5 syns)
    - Options hot choc (2 syns)
Total - 19 syns and no HExB!

Would have been ok if not for that cappuccino!

    Today:
B - Coffee x2 (2 syns for sugar), mullerlight, berries.
D - Lentil soup with extra carrots etc in from the freezer
    T - Not sure yet.

I'm getting a new fridge freezer next week so need to use up as much as possible. Going to do an inventory now and see what I can use and what needs to be chucked (Aunt Bessie's dumplings, presumably!)

Have a good day all x

Today is low-carb EE. I promised DH pizza tonight to celebrate his promotion at work this week. My favourite pizza recipe is vegetarian (spinach, onion and goats cheese - yum!) so I know I won't get enough P on that meal to call it SP.

Breakfast - Weetabix, summer fruits and coffee (HEA+HEB)
Lunch - Need to figure this out! Probably leftover stew.
Dinner - Cauliflower pizza (3 syns for cheese since already used HEA)

Syns - We have a party to go to tomorrow (first since joining and only one pre-Christmas, thankfully) so am trying to save them as a buffer since I don't have any control over the food. Have stuck to around 5 syns for the past couple of days and will do so again today, should be enough to cover whatever is served.

CountingPennies - The HiFi Lights are a little confusing as you can have 1 as a speed HEB, or 2 as a regular HEB. So you'll see entries for both amounts in the online planner.

Lois - I haven't watched it yet (may download today) but I've been seeing this eating window approach popping up a lot lately.Wouldn't be practical here, DH commutes so is out of the house more hours than that! We do try not to snack after pudding though.

lantanaglad you're okay now, it sounds awful. From the research I've done it seems pretty likely that I will have probs again in the future, it's just a question of when. Joy! Well done on your loss:j

Jill - welcome and congrats on the new job:j

Sandhy - well done for your loss:j

shala - the pulled chicken worked well with tomato puree so that saves a few syns. I think I would probably add some chilli flakes next time as it wasn't spicy enough for my tastes. Having said that the chipotle paste I used was 2 years out of date (unopened!), so it might have lost some of it's potency.

I'm absolutely starving already today. Don't know what's wrong with me!

I managed to drink two small glasses of squash yesterday which is an improvement. Had a pint of squash first thing this morning and I'm going to try to alternate between squash and fizzy today.

    Todays menu:

    B - banana, activia
    S - clementine
L - bacon, leek and potato soup, wm roll (HEB)
    S - kitkat (5.5)
D - chicken and chorizo risotto with veg (3 + HEA parmesan), ff greek yoghurt, cherries
E - popcorn? rice cakes? jelly? depending on how I feel. Might try not to have anything in evening as weigh in in the morning and it's not looking promising at the moment!

Lantanna - you can watch the Channel 4 Dr thing on catch up. I watched it this morning because I missed it Tuesday. Think I actually preferred the Tuesday one on 4 to the one last night on BBC.

Tete - I wouldn't worry about going 4 syns over yesterday, you can easily pull that back over the week, it only works out at just over 1/2 syn a day:rotfl:.
