The reason I used to weigh every day (as I said, I'm trying not to do it for SW) is weighing weekly, if I had a fluctuation that day and had no loss or even a gain, I'd get really down about it and sabotage. When if I'd weighed the next day, it was all gone because it was temporary. But I'm not really thinking about the scales or calories for this, just sticking to plan and seeing what happens. Weight is coming off (which is good) but I feel SO much better having gotten the crap out of my diet again. I'd lost over 4 stone a few years ago (on my own) and kept it off, but slipped back into bad habits and put some back on due to a really rotten year.
Anyway, today...
Breakfast - Was on the go, so just a regular hifi (HEB). Did grab a takeaway coffee too but it was honestly SO awful that I tipped it out after two sips. Not counting that!
Lunch - Ham, egg, beans, salad and 2 babybel (HEA)
Dinner - Chicken curry, served with spinach instead of rice. Not worried about carbs as such, just don't like rice!
Looks like an unintentional SP day again, so will have another HEB after dinner. Maybe some baked oats, but with (synned) milk instead of yoghurt.
Syns - Undecided, but probably the strangely addictive Ski toffee apple mousse. And a hot chocolate, again this weather!0 -

This is actually horrific and frightening! You could have a whole bottle of wine for that! Thankfully I don't like milk so I only ever get a Black Coffee or a green tea the rare time I'm at one of these places! I know some people who love them but dear me! All that in one cup!0 -
I think you're right miss independent and 20 cals to 1 syn is a rule of thumb. I you have the biscuits regularly then tell us the brand and we'll look them up for you. I think wiz eats Gullon IIRC.0

Thanks Maman - I've got Tesco Finest White Chocolate and Cranberry Cookies in the cupboard which are 94 cals so I've worked that out to 4.5 syns. Luckily I'm able to stick to just having one!0 -

But gingerbread latte and hot fudge chocolate
We tend to avoid costa and starbucks because we're[STRIKE] too tight [/STRIKE]looking after our health  but I wouldn't mind trying to make a replica out of healthier ingredients...
Thanks for your encouragement guys, I realise all I seem to do is tell you i'm off the wagon.. but if I didn't keep checking in then it could go a whole lot worse!
Hope we can all find our way and if not just keep plodding

miss_independent wrote: »Hello,
Please can I join in the challenge? I'd like to lose 10 lbs
I have previously done Slimming World, lost over a stone then put it all back on again through studying for my MA. I graduated last December and have been gaining and losing and gaining again. I can't afford to join SW at the moment as I was forced to resign from my main job six weeks ago and am on a very low wage now. I still have all the books (including the new programme).
I managed to lose 4lbs a couple of weeks ago but then I started having counselling sessions and went back to comfort eating as a way of coping with the painful stuff that was coming up. For a long time, food has been the only thing that makes me feel happy. But then I look at my body and feel ashamed. I've put on 5lbs over the weekend and am now the heaviest I've ever been. I want to feel good about my body again, instead of hating it and feeling depressed.
I'm hoping to do SW using this thread for inspiration and instead of going to a meeting, post on here. I really want to get this weight off for good!
Please can I join you all?
Welcome Miss Independent! The comfort eating is definitely something I can relate to. I think I learnt to comfort eat as a coping mechanism when I was very young and have struggled with my weight ever since. I do find being in control of my food really helps with it though - it makes me feel more in control in general and less inclined to comfort eat. Here's hoping you find the same
My menu for today:
Breakfast: bran flakes (HeB), strawberries
Lunch: Didn't have time to have my lunch today, ended up just having speed fruit
Dinner: cheesy ham and potato bake (in the oven as I type!) - 6 syns for the cheese
Snacks: alpen light (3 syns), hot chocolate (2 syns), mullerlight, milk in drinks (heA)
total 11 syns.
Edit to update:
Weighed in with a 2lb loss this evening
Unfortunately really didn't enjoy my cheesy ham and potato bakeRecipe is from latest SW magazine and consists of potato, leeks, ham, egg and cheese - I found it really bland. Trouble is, I made enough for two nights so have leftovers for tomorrow! Anyone got any ideas to make it a bit more exciting?
