I'm actually a fan of weighing every day. As long as you can mentally cope with the daily fluctuations, I've found it quite helpful in the past. But I'm trying really hard not to do it this time, I'm aiming to only weigh on my scales the same morning I weigh in at group just so all the stats sync to my fitbit account.
Hi June,
Weighing in every day seems to go against making SW fit around ones life. I found daily weigh-ins made the weight the main daily focus for ones life. This can impact one ones eating habits negatively, and possibly have implications on ones mood.
Daily weigh ins places too much focus on short term goals for those who have not comprehended, that it's all about the long term results, as weight can fluctuate from day to day by 2kg or more.
I agree, for those with the right focus, it may be a good idea to monitor daily fluctuations in weight for a limited time, so one can understand ones body more fully.
On a last note, there are no right or wrongs here, it is just my personal opinion on the matter.
Have a nice evening...SW loss= 15.5kg / 2st 6.2lb0 -
Hi guys I'm back - well I haven't been anywhere really
. Mum had a fall at airport on way to funeral and broke her hip. She is now in hospital (60 mile round trip away from home). Had operation on Friday and is doing reasonably well so far. What a week it has been since I received the phone call late on Monday night to say my Aunt had died. To add to our trauma - we waited at airport over 2.5hrs for an ambulance only to be told none were available. Ended up getting a taxi with wheelchair access to take her to hospital. We are talking of a lady who is 88, in extreme pain, had obviously suffered major damage . Hospital told us that if she had arrived at hospital earlier, she may not have had to wait until the following day for her op. We are not happy bunnies
Anyway rant over for now ...
Hello to lovely new people.
Well done to all our fab losers and shiney awardees :T
Totally can see where you are coming from lantanna by giving those pesky scales a miss just now.
Hope you feel better soon CP xx.
I was talking to a lady who works in one of our local supermarkets Meg and she said the exact same thing to me on Saturday - that I had lost the amount she weighs. Totally agree that I probably couldn't carry you very far if I tried - not that you are very heavy of course:rotfl:
Well I'm maybe a bit early Shala but can I declare a STS for our new week as I know I am not going to be able to make class this week. So far I have managed to stay on plan fairly well - making a real effort with the planning. I dare say there will be times when I may slip off the SW path but will try to limit the damage.
Hope you all have a brilliant week and I will check in when I can.

Oh b-e-g, what a dreadful thing to happen and I feel for your poor mum. And for no ambulance to be available is truly shocking. Sending you a great big hug and :T for staying close to plan through it all. You're amazing.:A0

So sorry to hear about your mum BEG, as if you don't have enough on your plate at the moment. Hope your mum recovers quickly.
I'm planning on a Red day today for a change - it's ages since I did Red:
B - scrambled eggs on toast (HEB)
L - beef stew (no potatoes as I don't put them in stews, always do them separate)
D - cold roast pork, new potatoes (HEB), lettuce, cucumber, pickled onions, cornichons (unfortunately no beetroot left - need to add to my shopping list!)
HEA will be milk in tea throughout the day.
Syns: a little butter on pots (1.5).
Need to keep the syns low from now until WI on Thursday morning, as usual!

Morning
Beg - that is awful, I hope your Mum is on the mend now. ((Hugs))
CP - hope the antibiotics are kicking in and you're feeling better.
I'm happy to report in with a 3lb loss. My initial WI was last Wednesday so I'm really pleased to lose that much in less than a week, having said that travelling seems to pile the pounds on for me so it's partly because of that.
Another thing that always affects me after travelling is feeling weird - the only thing I can liken it to is jet lag, but we only moved 1 time zone so it really can't be that!
Have a great day everyone.

Couldn't agree with this more, which is why I am taking a total break from the scale until the end of the month as it is doing my head in. I want to live and eat and not be constantly thinking about can I eat this, I shouldn't eat that and getting annoyed when the scales don't say what I want them to say. I need to find a lighter and more realistic approach to it all to ensure I stick at it for life. Its exhausting! When I used to go to group if I hadn't lost or gained it used to put me in a bad mood for a whole week! I don't want to view foods as good and bad either anymore and I do want to have a healthy balanced diet with treats and not feel bad about those treats.
I haven't really been on track from Wednesday, audits and tiredness and been strangely hungry all weekend and grazing at things I'd be better off not grazing on.
I made stew last night and so have that for lunch. Dinner is a pasta dish that started out as soup :rotfl:0 -
Hugs to you and your Mum Beg xx0

It's all about money at the end of the day I suppose. My brother has written off to ambulance service - I think he just had to vent a little. It's all about how they prioritise who they go to first.
