Thank you CountingPennies and Rebster - knowing you have both struggled with comfort eating/using it as a coping mechanism and have managed to lose weight is really encouraging to me!
Rebster, I was going to try that ham bake out of the magazine...might leave it now! Could you "caramelise" some onions and put them on top or syn some branston pickle to accompany it? My tendency is to put chilli and garlic salt on everything but that's not to everyone's taste!0 -

Well done to all the losers0 -
Evening!
Thanks for the chart Shala and well done to the SOTWs :T
Interesting to read about the high calorie coffee shop drinks - I was only saying yesterday to DH that the coffee chains are as much to blame for the obesity epidemic as the fast food outlets are. What annoys me is the huge quantities the drinks are available in, the smallest size is too big. Coffee should be served in small cups, not buckets!

Well done, june, TIE, wiz, Lois, queen and muso.
What an awful experience for you and your mum, b_e_g. I hope she makes a good, quick recovery.
I like the sound of your ex soup now pasta dish, lantanna.
Nice to meet you, miss_independent. Pull up a chair. There will always be someone along with encouragement and a cuddle, if required. Just googled that doodle diary and it does look like fun – enjoy using it.
Sending you a hug, shala, just because. And it’s sts for me again. Thanks for managing the chart for us.
Congrats, Kaz and orlao, on being SOTWs.
Good news tonight – my friend should leave hospital in a couple of weeks after just over 4 months. She will still require a wheelchair, but it’s something we hardly dared to hope would happen in such a (comparatively) short time. My other friend is well on the mend after pleurisy too. Happy day.
Well here’s today’s menu, warts and all.
Breakfast: hexb bran flakes, hexa milk, raspberries & banana
Lunch: baked potato with baked beans, lettuce, tomato, red onion, cucumber, yellow pepper, ML Greek mango yogurt
Snack: gingernuts x 2 (4 syns)
Dinner: turkey steak, SW potato wedges, roasted veg (tomatoes, mushrooms, green pepper, red onion, corn on the cob)
Snack: fake Kit Kat (6 syns)
Well, let’s hope the rain stops (I think the fish in the Atlantic must be gasping for oxygen) tomorrow and we can all feel cheered up and ready to do battle with our weight demons.Sewing 88/COLOR]Woollies 19Card s 91Reading 37/400 -
LL - There is actually a smaller size available for most drinks, it's just not listed on the board. It's a short, which is 8oz instead of the standard 12oz tall. That's for Starbucks at least, not sure about the other chains. And a lot of the good independent shops will still serve in proper Italian cups, not the gigantic American-influenced ones.
I've honestly never seen anyone order a massive cream based coffee though!0 -

Weighed in with a 2lb loss this evening
Good losses you two! Well done!:T
So pleased to hear your friends are getting better greentiger.:)
I think the onion idea is good to perk up your meal rebster and perhaps sliced tomato. Depends what you like in the way of spices but maybe a shake of Tabasco or Worcestershire sauce if you want to keep it syn free.
You're right about the huge coffees lois but it's much the same in cinemas with buckets of popcorn and fizzy drinks and when I was a child there weren't massive bags of crisps around either. And then you see those trays of doughnuts in supermarkets. None of this helps the obesity problem IMO.0
