Interesting to hear some thoughts on taking a break from dieting, especially from those who are at maintenance. The article I posted sells it as a "system refresh", to help both physically (metabolism/hormone changes) and mentally. One key thing to point out is that by taking a break, it doesn't mean eating chocolate until you burst (which I'm certainly prone to!), it means eating mindfully and stopping when your full, just not worrying about counting every calorie (or syn in our case!).0

Well hello there greentiger - lovely to see you popping in. Hope you have a lovely Christmas and we may see you again after all the festivities eh

Gained 0.5 lb last night at group. Was ok with this after the cold derailed me. Will see where I am overall this time next month. I'm happy to be going, being accountable and feeling in control of it.
Really looking forward to getting to target again this year.
Going back to the gym tonight, I need the serotonin big time!!! Even if I get half an hour it will be a start.
We each got a Christmas Survival Kit last night in group, I thought this was a nice touch.
A little pack with all the below in it and the following inside a card
A Pen: To draw a line after Christmas so you are ready for the new year
A rubber: To rub out your mistakes and start afresh
A sticker: To help stick to food optimising
A rubber band: To be flexible when you need to
A paper clip: To hold things together
A mole hill: So you don't have mountains to climb
A balloon: So you can blow it and not your journey
A Teabag: To help you be strong
A Heart: To remind you I'm thinking of you
And a Star: Because you are a star
I thought it was nice : )0 -

Had a great weight loss this week (-5lb) and got my 2.5st award! Am only 4lb away now from my 3st.
What does it mean when people write here "SP"?
Well done for your progress so far. :T
The initials SP stand for Speed and Protein and it refers to the new plan SW brought in at the beginning of the year. There is more information in the first couple of posts, but briefly, SP meals are low carb, having 50% protein (meat, fish, pulses) and 50% vegetables from the list of Speed food.
Hope that helps.

Congrats Abba - fab loss!
maman I don't rate my consultant TBH. She's nice enough, but makes silly suggestions like not having the HEs if you don't want them and having free foods on SP (which she also never openly suggests doing - must be in the training!) because it doesn't matter. I do enjoy going to group as it's a lovely bunch of ladies but don't really learn anything there, most info comes from social media or forums like this!
Today...
Breakfast - Arla, berries and grapenuts (HEB+1)
Lunch - Leftover bolognese (HEA)
Dinner - Chicken and ratatouille. BNS chips if I can be bothered!
Syns - Advent (3) plus whatever comes later
I have a high anxiety day ahead, so hoping to keep to that plan. Already had 3 advent chocs this morning (forgot the past couple days) which did nothing0 -
Morning all
Decorations are up here - I don't usually do them until the weekend before Christmas but everyone around here goes overboard, especially outside, and I was starting to feel left out!
Had a lovely walk yesterday, we went quite a long way and I was feeling it later, my knees were complaining! I'm ok today though, might walk down to the beach for a coffee later.
I was planning to make cottage pie last night but we ended up having mince, mash and veg as we were really hungry so I didn't do the last bit. It was lovely and had loads of speed food - tomato, onions and carrots in the mince and green beans and cabbage on the side. I hoped to have enough veg left over to make bubble and squeak but we ate most of it. We're having fish today so I might use the LO mashed potato and make fish cakes.
Have a good day everyone.

My DDs are coming over on Saturday to put up the tree and help with decorations etc.
Not sure if I am weighing in tonight or tomorrow at a different location. It depends when dd can drive us both there.
Had a brunch of beef escalope, tomatoes and mushrooms and a coffee. If it is weigh in tonight then I will just have a mugshot, fruit and yoghurt later. Will make a dish with pork and veg tonight as another dd is coming round and look up a SW recipe.
The girls loved chicken supreme, pork in cider and HB enchiladas as well as SW linguine carbonara so hoping I can find something else they love.
I was two and half pounds away from 21lb loss but will do well to maintain this week."This site is addictive!"
