Buffy, Sorry to hear your news about your auntie, yes cancer is a b word.
I got diagnosed in august aged 56 with breast cancer no one in my family has had it, total bolt out of the blue. I don't mean to frighten you because most lumps are fine and if its like me could not feel it anyway.

But don't take nurses word and get a proper diagnosis from doctor.

I found out very early and very lucky.

Hope all is fine take care,

    Regards,

    Angie

Thank you XX I am doctor bound and although the nurse was reassuring I want my mind put at rest.
    Nevertheless she persisted.

Brill if they are worried, which I think is not likely, but if it is dodgy you will be sent for or scan within days and your mind will be put at rest.

What a complete !!!! about your Aunt - my aunt was diagnosed with liver and stomach cancer a few months ago - she's now got a colostomy bag and lost all her hair but still as strong and determined as ever. Her husband has dementia - how they cope is beyond me. It's amazing what people can cope with.

    As for the house....
    1. Where can you buy a house for that little? Bargain!
    2. Don't rent it out - get a job there and move in!!!
    3. If you do decide to go down the landlord root get yourself over to the "mortgage free wannabe" boards and check out some of the "buy to let" peoples experiences.
    4. Don't discount number 2!!!!!!!

Glad you're seeing the Dr, has the lump changed at all?

  • No change in the lump, aside from occasionally disappearing which is scaring the crap out of me.

I would live in the house eventually, I would have to. I will lose this one eventually.

I shall go read stuff about Buy to let things..............

I bet the lump is a cyst. That's why it keeps disappearing. But best to get it checked to be on the safe side.

It's hard to get on the housing ladder nowadays. I really feel for you in that respect.

  • Doctors is on Monday. 5.20. The initial reassurance from the nurse is wearing thin.

am debating whether to tell work or not. As in warn them? But I think it is best to wait.

I am getting more worried about it, lots to finish and sort out.

I keep thinking if I am going to be ill I don't want it to be in an messy house. I need my affairs in order. Which sounds dreadful I know! but I want as much peace of mind as I can.

I think I shall keep busy and distract myself. XXX

I agree if it's coming and going then it sounds like a cyst. Have a read here https://www.breastcancercare.org.uk/publications/benign-breast-conditions/breast-cysts-bcc73

I wouldn't say anything to work, its none of their business.

    Don't start panicking x

Don't say anything to work unless you have to have treatment. And don't worry - I know it's easy for me to say but it really does sound like a cyst.
