I agree - write and complain. The receptionists have NO ability whatsoever to assess your need to be there or need for a call, and shouldn't be putting you off with that kind of attitude. Also, they are supposed to be trained in maintaining confidentiality and should know better than to shout personal info across the room. This really makes me cross - people are already upset when they are worried and it is just so out of order to make the whole thing more difficult! The practice manager won't know unless they are told - and btw, I would look up their name on the website and either email them or mark the letter private and confidential, just in case the post normally goes via reception and might be 'detoured'. The practice website might also have details of their complaints policy.

If you don't get an appointment in the next couple of days, check if there are any other local options on where you can go eg women's health clinics.

    All things crossed for you

A receptionist at my doctors got the sack for her bad attitude after lots of complaints. It's just not on.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • Did you manage to get seen to by a Dr?

  • am being seen on Wednesday. This does mean it will impact on work but there you go.

here things are annoying, I went to look for some boxes in the shed.....IT took all day....... I thought I cleared it out in August but I didn't apparently.

Tomorrow I tackle under the bed..........can't wait.

I really want everything sorted. I can't bear all this crap hanging round. I mean I keep EVERYTHING which is ridiculous.

  • Went to doctors, saw the nurse (!) didn't realise that when I made the appointment, but she thinks I am too young (which was marvellous to hear) and thought the lump was actually my boob....so am seeing the doctor next week. She was massively reassuring, no family history, etc. so I feel ok about.

    I applied for a mortgage.

For WHATEVER reason I am eligible for a whole 50,000 pounds. I admit this is just an online thing but last time I went into the bank (pre 2008) they would only give 120,000 but then I had debts. Now I don't but ironically I also don't have a record of paying rent as I have for the last ten years (!) I have only paid to Mummy dearest.... Ten year people. what a mess.

Well.......this lead me to a decision. I thought about it last year and chickened out but I need start thinking about my security.

I can't get a buy to let Mortgage as far as I can tell. However, I can borrow enough to buy a house near my best mate. I can rent it out and pay back the bank loan. I have a bolt hole and some security when things go wrong here.

One halyfax loan can be repaid early and the tess cos loan is cheaper as I have a good rating with them. So I could borrow 35, 000 to buy a house. two bed terrace, the rent return would be 400 max a month - I would use that to manage the property/letting agent and re pay the loan from my wages. It would mean I would stop saving but equally any kind of Mortgage you need a 10 grand deposit (even for 40,000) however this way I keep my savings and if any dreadful happened I would have 6 months cover and six month sick leave.

my plan is to go stay with my best mate in half term and actually have a proper look, find a letting agent, houses, do a proper recon.

Up till then, it is save the "cushion" I currently have 9,000 including all my "bits" and would like that to be a proper 10,000 in an ISA before I do anything else. so perhaps 12,000 including my bits - Christmas, emergency fund etc.

I wouldn't buy till the Summer - go stay up there - hotel this time and make a decision. I want to take it slow and steady but equally I am feeling increasing worried about my future and how I would manage.

so providing everything works out health wise, that is the next plan.
