..........The majority of buyers are absolutely fine- however advertising the fact that you are relinquishing seller protection might just attract a scammer who sees goods for free. As for small claims, I'm not sure how that would help as UK law requires a seller to prove that an item has been delivered to the correct address- and the correct address in this case would be the paypal one.

I'm not quite sure what exactly Paytpal seller protection actually covers and since i rarely send good out "tracked and signed for" (for cost reasons) I don't think I'm covered in the general way either. The fact is that collect + "shop to shop" - IS both tracked and signed for !

The collectplus shop to shop delivery means that I send the item from my local shop to a shop near him. When it arrives, they e-mail him (on the email address I have taken from Paypal. He receives the email and goes to the shop with his proof of ID and collects the goods.

If Paypal choose to refund him with my money under those circumstances, I stilll have a Contract to supply him with the goods and I believe that the fact that he has received an email and reacted to it, by taking his proof of ID to the shop is reasonable evidence that I have fulfilled my part of the contract and he has the goods. (Civil Law only requires "balance of probabilities" level of "proof" ) I would ask the Court to make him fulfil his part of the contract and Pay me !

[ I'm unsure how the interference of Paypal in the contract would affect the legalities - since he could say he had in fact paid through Paypal - but then they refunded him. It's akin to the care one has to take over the wording of receipts when they "Pay by cheque" in a way. ]

Paypal might not believe that sellers and buyers have equal rights to be heard - but I believe the English Legal System does.

I'm not sure how a scammer would get around the "proof of ID" or even explain how a thrid party could go to the shop in response to HIS email and collect HIS goods.

If someone did that to me, I would report them to the police for fraud. I do not expect the police would spend much time investigating, but it would give me a little satisfaction.
    Fraud by false representation

    - made a false representation
    - dishonestly
    - knowing that the representation was or might be untrue or misleading
    - with intent to make a gain for himself or another, to cause loss to another or to expose another to risk of loss.

    Hi all

Still plodding along here. I'm stuck on the quidco comp today. The red star - I know I know it but just can't think what it is. Know I'm going to go 'doh' when I finally got it!

Will be eternally grateful to whoever can put me out of my misery!

    Thanks
