    its a wind up.

    May not be.

I use to live in a house with a shared drive where a car used to appear every few days. Found out that it was friend of the LL's. Problem was the LL didn't bother to tell us or the neighbour who shared the drive. The car owner was actually very nice about it and actually they didn't cause a problem once they were told where to park, it was the random vans from well known companies or people on the street's builders who caused loads of problems.

    The easiest solutions where:
    1. to break the window, release the handbrake and roll them on to the road for the parking attendents to ticket them.
    2. block them in, deny it was anyone's car and watch them blantantly from the window near the drive.
    I'm not cynical I'm realistic :p

(If a link I give opens pop ups I won't know I don't use windows)

This is exactly what I'd do. Problem solved, cheeky bu*gers!:rotfl:

It's always a joke, when things like this happens to others, but you can't see the funny side when it happens to you :(

No offence. I thought this thread was a joke, then I read the post below and bolded what I would do if it happened to be real.

I'm not the only one who is questioning the thread. Probably perfectly true for all I know. Did you read my second post?

  • before taking the advice of some of the posters to commit criminal damage to someone else's vehicle, please consider the following:-

Could it not be that the local owner has had his vehicle stolen, dumped and has not reported it yet (eg because they too are on holiday and do not know its missing)?

It took a couple I knew a month to notice their prized fiat 500 thingy was missing from their garage!

or, Could it not be that it was taken by a garage for repair and returned to the wrong address?

I would return to the Police Station and see if any reports on the vehicle have been made since you last went round and also word your concerns slightly differently.
Something like either "you/your guests want to park your vehicle on your drive but cant"....or........"you want to move large furniture and its in the way"....either way, its presence is causing you "alarm and distress"-(important you use this phrase) and you want to file a report.

It would be so much less griefy for the Police to find the registered keeper and make them move it, rather than have to put on the report, record you as the victim, the owner of the car as a suspect, take statements blah blah blah....

Or tell them you suspect there might be a breach of the peace if you find the owner before they do...

Has anyone seen my car? I can't remember where I parked it.

guppy, this is serious, i demand an apology.

Look on the bright side...it could have been a sunset orange nissan micra with four flat tyres, a pigeon nest on the back seat and a car alarm that activated itself everytime someone walked past the house...
