    Hi all
Well done to those who are keeping budget under control...

I have recieved my "main" Tesco shop yesterday which came to 63.98 I'm pleased with that BUT a bit annoyed with myself as I then nipped out of work at lunch time and ended up spending another £3.79 this should only of been 80p for a bag of rabbit food but ended up getting a few treats for rabbits and hamsters...also under the premise of saving money I bought a bottle ribena to keep in work to stop me nipping out for cans of pop or juice.

Anyway total spend so far is £67.77 which leaves me £12.23 I should only need a bit of bread, milk, ham, salad from somerfield so should be on target this week...
Doing this challenge has really opened my eyes to how much extra we used to spend on bits n bobs that we didn't even need...

    Mel x

  • woo hoo :j we have battery power and a fully functioning freezer once more!

I threw my rattle out of the pram yesterday morning and had a go at DH about getting some new batteries and he listened and got them and has fitted them.

Being able to freeze left-overs and (more importantly) things that will go out of date when plans change is such an important part of my keeping to the budget.

I now have faith in myself not to go over budget this month.

Not much spend since the weekend £2.43 yesterday and nowt today. Delivery from Mr. T tomorrow. Estimate price £89 including delivery but not including bogofs, special offers and ecoupons. Hope to be around £80
  • I took a couple of trips to ASDA over the past two days and spent a further £6.01 on milk, bread and rabbit food (we buy the Waggs stuff as Bunny has always been on the selective stuff that contains all the nutrition in every bite to prevent 'selective feeding' and therefore wastage).
So I have updated the siggy and later will update again as I need to stock up on milk from Iceland or Somerfield as ASDA prices have gone up 15p per bottle again cos their 2 for £2 offer ended. It's annoying cos ASDA is closer to our house and now I have to go into town!

  • Hi Stewart

what you do/don't include in your budget is entirely up to you.....it depends on what you budgeted for in the first place  .

If you budgeted £200 for food/toiletries/cleaning only, then I would say the t-shirt stuff, cocktail mixer etc should come out of some other budget, BUT, if you just had a general £200 budget which was supposed to cover "everything" then maybe you should bite the bullet and include them?

    cheers

  • Glad to hear everyone's doing well, I blew it last month but I feel like I;m back on track now.
I went to both lidl and Aldi yesterday and got some bargains! Lidl were selling really lovely aubergines for 23p each and fennel bulbs for 39p each. Plus I got a tray of organic vine tomatoes for 69p. I'm going to roast them together with onion, garlic herbs from the garden and a few other bits and bobs and freeze the result as pasta sauce.
Mortgage Free as of 03/07/2017

Spent £24.66 in sainsburys, and got some milk from local shop (wiil add that when I find the reciept) Wasn't going to go to Sainsburys, but with the price pof flour and butter rocketing I decided to pick up some extra before their went up. Also got 2 tins of MaMade marmalade Lemon and Orange. Will give it a bash this weekend.
