  • Right, did my first shop of September yesterday, and the totals were Lidl £18.81 and Tesco £61.04 = total £79.85.
Which is not too bad. I have a full freezer, can't open the door without being accosted by flying containers, but that's good right ;) Anyway I have enough meat, pulses/potatoes and veg for about 2 weeks so hopefully we will only need bread, milk and fresh stuff so next week might be a lot cheaper.

    It's only a game

  • Hi all:hello:. I'm thoroughly disappointed with my results for last month, I really thought I was going to manage, but it all blew up on 30th.. Maybe I was a bit too optimistic, although it was my total spend for the month.

Oh well onwards and upwards, hopefully. I'm going away for the rest of this week, but I have well stocked the cupboards from last month budget to keep the home tums filled. I think I will set my target again at £300.00. Surely if I leave it at that for long enough, I will get used to it, and anyway it is a lot less than I would have been spending 2 months ago. So, I'll change my sig and go for £300.00 all in. I will run this from today, 3/9 through to 30/9.

I would like to thank you one and all, but for the ideas and support on this site I would never have managed to get anywhere near my target.

This is getting obsessive tho  ... I spent ages today comparing prices between Sainsbury's and Tesco to get best use out of the money off £20 shops I got last week thro the post from both then spent around 2 hours in Tesco double checking my Tesco list :rotfl:

I'm with you Taka. I've spent so long over the last week constructing budget s/sheets, doing first Tesco.com shop to use evouchers & checking MSE for other codes, joining more tesco clubs, scanning ebay for cheap stacks of money off vouchers, selling Tesco points vouchers etc etc that my husband thinks I've left him & babyAva doesn't recognise me!!

Thankfully back of it broken now. But a scary spend so far of £141.58 from a £300 budget which is HUUUUGE for the 3rd day of the month, but this does include the big Mr T. com shop which got me 1000 extra points. Bit gutted I didn't get a £10 off also as the usable code ran out yesterday but lesson learnt there. Grrrrr. Did get my Dad's birthday pressy for free though by taking out an Amazon ccard & getting a £15 off voucher.

Just need to stock up on nappies, wipes & then top ups (I hope). There's 2 of us & 1 hungry toddler, and Mum does also stay for tea most nights as she babysits while I'm @ work.

Hope everyone is OK, best of luck all,
    Alona

  • Well my first even challege and not going well so far. Had aimed for £50 per week so £200 a month in total. So far spend 88.48 in less than one week. Gutted but that amount includes wellies for my little boy, his packed lunch stuff (will just need to buy bread in the week) and food for our cat, huge dog and puppy. I will have to try harder!

  • Hey Guys

    Quick question

I've set me and my gf's budget at £200 for the month - it might seem a tad much but i can always lower it in October.

On Saturday i spent £54 in Tesco but £6 of this was on t-shirt transfer paper (i make my own t-shirts), a fiver on a cocktail mixer and £3 on flowers! So, do i deduct £14 from the total leaving me with £40 and being way under my budget of £50 for the week?

    Cheers
