Spent £11.00 of the budget today on a chicken(2.59 will do 2 meals and hopefully some soup), 2 loafs of bread(1.40) (1 has gone in the freezer), 2 blocks of butter made some flapjacks and some biscuits(1.50 for 2) pack of crumpets(50p) some mini biscuits(bogof)£1 bag of pots(69p) tray of 15 eggs(1.00) some beef chunks(1.50 reduced) cooking in the slow cooker now(maybe 2/3 meals out of this for me) bag of 24 puffy crisps for 1.00 got 10 pts of milk using one milk token hopefully will not need much more this week.
  • Bought nappies in waitrose as passing, & bought 1 x reduced lambmince & 2 times reduced chicken so got about £15 of meat for £5.97. Have just entered receipt ons/sheet & saw that they were all coded as lamb so got an extra £1.48 off as lamb is buy 2 for £5.50.

So £15 worth for £4.49. Result!! Can't now shut the freezer though.

  • Hi Folks :)

Not be around for a while, life got in the way again! As you can see from my siggy, I've still been budgeting but I blew it last month which has given me less for this month  I've slipped from my money saving ways alot over the past two months but I'm now pulling my socks up. DH had agreed to take homemade ready meals instead of sarnies which will save a fortune as I can batch back, curries, chillies etc and freeze them for him, means I don't have to get up early every morning as well :j I've also begun making up some gifts for Xmas for friends and family and found some cheap but good items for gifts, will pop over to the Xmas thread inna bit.

We've adopted a new cat so that's upped our monthly costs, but he's worth it :) Our first cat isn't overly impressed with his new brother, but they're getting used to each other. I have to get my head back into budgeting and old style living with Xmas not that far away. All my good intentions earlier in the year have melted away. Still at least I've realised before it gets to out of hand! Fingers crossed it will get better from here. Will catch up on the thread when I have a bit more spare time. Just wanted to say I'm in again :)

Why do you put nappies in the freezer? Is this a cool thing to do? :rotfl:

No spend today as Mr. T is due any minute. :j

  • Oh dear! After a good start my budget has taken a bit of a hit over the last week! Went to Sainsburys instead of our normal Tesco shop and spend nearly £50 when it would normally be £38-£40. I swear its a more expensive place to go as we didn't seem to have much extra to show for it!

On the plus side, last Saturday I completely sorted out my kitchen cupboards so everything is nicely organised and I can find everything I want! Found some interesting things I had forgotten I had, so will have fun using these up for the rest of the month. :rotfl:

2 more big shops for the month to go so am now just hoping to stay within budget. Will try harder next month!
