  • Enjoy your new cooker and fridge freezer, mooloo:beer:. Much needed and well deserved I'm sure so please don't feel guilty about having to dip into your savings:). I know my life has been transformed since I bought my new washing machine (it doesn't take much to make me ecstatic:rotfl:).

Just a quick explanation of my savings 'system' (if anything so hit-and-miss could be described as a 'system').

I'm on a DMP and am trying to pay off massive debts in a reasonable timeframe (six and a half years) so have really committed more to it than is comfortable. My choice. I've left so little slack in my budget that I really need to make extra money each month to use on life's essentials:o.

I'm on the brilliant Make £10 a Day challenge:T and it motivates me to pull out all the stops. Surprisingly, as I live in a very rural area with few opportunities, I manage to make target most months through a bit here and there. It doesn't have to be £10 every single day, some days I make zilch but then I maybe do a car boot sale or get cashback or a survey redemption etc and that covers several days. I invite everyone to join us, it's friendly and fun:j

Anyway, although I need to use a lot of this 'extra' for essentials I do have a surplus most months and intend to save it towards this challenge. It's easier for me to tot it up and add it once a month if that's OK but I'll post more often than that with a bit of interim info.

I hope all's well with you, Helen. You haven't posted for a while.
  • Afternoon All....

Well if it doesn't rain it blooming pours....The reason I haven't Posted much is because last Tuesday my Grandad went out with my Grandma for a walk and a bite to eat and he collapsed with a Seizure and a Cardiac Arrest....we all rushed to the Hospital and were told to expect the worst....I have to say that last Tuesday was one of the worst days of my Life....

Luckily he pulled through it but was unconscious for about 24 hours....and then regained consciousness but was very confused...he now seems to be getting better each day but I suspect it will be a long road to recovery....

I had a Trip to Cornwall booked to see my Brother this past Weekend and because Grandad was stable my Family insisted I went...so I did....it was hectic but good to get a break...I am also off out tonight based on him still being stable....I feel guilty for having time to myself but I DO realise that if I am constantly worried and devoting every single hour to being at the Hospital I probably wouldn't be in a very fit state to help look after him when hopefully he comes home....

So that's been my Week....I don't have the time to Update fully today but I will endeavour to Update everyone tomorrow morning and Welcome our Newest Member...

I just wanted to let you all know what was going on with me....

Hopefully I can Update everything tomorrow and be a bit more Upbeat...right now I'm just exhausted!!

Love and Hugs to Everyone... xXx :)

  • So sorry to read about what a worrying time you're having, Helen. We're all thinking of you:kisses3:

Big hugs to you and Grandad:grouphug:. I hope he'll be home again soon.
  • How frightening for you all! It's very encouraging that he is making daily progress. Sending prayers.
Overprepare, then go with the flow.

Thank You Everyone for your lovely words and thoughts about Grandad....It is just heartbreaking to watch him be so confused and be unsure as to where he is or what is going on....But he DOES recognise us, which is a good thing...and last night he seemed to be a bit better, which is good...I'm hoping he will continue to improve...

I believe in catching my dreams not just chasing them.
I am always thinking how? Visualising the things until I focus on them so much they happen.
From my shop, my car, my cooker and fridge.
I make them happen. Although retiring to a warmer country may take a lot more focus! But I am only 55. So there is time yet.
