Haha yes the E46 does have OBD port. Sure it can't park itself but I wonder how well that actually works?
ESP by the way is also found on early 2000 Honda Civics - it's just a traction control technology. And yes the E46 M3 traction control is miles ahead of the Focus. It had a bloody LSD but oh wait the Focus has ESP!
The only things the E46 doesn't have which the focus does is iPod connectivity, DAB radio, electric parking break, self parking feature. All pretty pointless features IMO maybe except iPod connectivity but this can be bypassed via Bluetooth. I'm pretty sure the E46 M3 has a bunch of things that Focus doesn't have and let's not even get into things like quality of leather etc.
Fact is fact the E46 M3 > Focus. Case closed
 Yawn
Do you even know how the diff on a Focus works?
And sorry to point out but the parking system in the Focus works great as does the city braking system.
Let's not forget that almost everything worth having on an M3 of that vintage was an option.
 Quality of the leather?
What are you talking about now?
Can you even tell what the "leather" is like on your M3 on Forza?0

And no an E46 is not a superior machine it contains pretty old technology, albeit very good for the time it was built
It ASTOUNDS me how anyone could write such an absurd statement. Yes the E46 M3 is still a better machine overall purely as a car compared to the Focus. We haven't gone through a technological transformation in the past decade where new cars like the Focus uses quantum mechanics. Cars still rely on good old fashion thermodynamics and electronics. Still 1's and 0's and combustion cycles. Because manufacturers add gadgets like DAB or whatever doesn't make them cutting edge technology. For things that actually matter the E46 M3 triumphs the Focus - ever heard of forged Pistons? Forged engine internals using lighter strong alloys? The Focus cannot hold a candle light to the E46 M3.0

And you're also wrong when you say everything was an option the E46 M3. No it wasn't. As base trim it pretty much had every feature except for SMG gearbox and BMW Sat Nav. As stock it had cruise control, heated leather seats and steering wheel, 18 speakers and mini sub woofer harmon kardon...the list goes on...0

Why would a forged piston be of any benefit on the drive to work?0

 According to whom?
This site doesn't agree with you. http://www.edmunds.com/bmw/m3/2006/features-specs/0

The site also doesn't contain the optional extras like SMG. I guess I was wrong there the harmon kardon speakers were an option0

We haven't gone through a technological transformation in the past decade where new cars like the Focus uses quantum mechanics.
We really have. Every generation of cars (every 5 years or so) tends to be leaps and bounds ahead of the last one. In the last 20 years we've gone from metal boxes that did nothing on their own to machines that can actually park themselves, follow lanes and keep a steady distance to the car in front.
Features that were the domain if the super high end Mercedes are now available in very cheap, mundane cars (like self parking, adaptive cruise control, bluetooth)
Which car is "best" is highly subjective and depends very much on the use case, but that in car tech has progressed in the last decade isn't up for debate.0

Look guys, the ONLY way to engage with these persona is by clicking the "spam" button on every single post they make. Don't answer at all - just click as spam and move on.
That may be a little hard on the forum team who have to follow all those reports up, but he is spamming the forum with lots of similar (effectively identical) topics and posts, which no-one is showing any interest in except by way of "outing" him, and disrupting the forum by doing so. So report it.
Besides, it might create a good incentive for the team to find a more permanent solution 0 0

Remember the etiquette thing?I take it technical isn't your strong suit?
Anyway, my (real) masters degree in engineering says otherwise, but you're deliberately missing my point so I give up. I did try and have a reasoned conversation but it's just going to descend into the usual nonsense and get deleted so there's no point.0
