I idly wonder whether, if the E46 M3 is so wonderful, BMW discontinued it damn near a decade ago? And why then discontinue that replacement?

Reported too, post 89 as offensive.

Really? You've reported MY post? Or are you referring to what was #89 at the time?

Umm, what's wrong with a starting handle? Most of my cars have a starting handle...

    Absolutely nothing.

My first car had a starting handle, Austin A40 Mk2 Farina.

Was just musing as to what other equipment the M3 was lacking.

My first car was actually a van - an A35 van - just like Wallace & Gromit - it was dark green - weren't they all?

Oh no I remember there were a few grey ones too.

It had a starting-handle of course - every car did back then.

    Speaking of starting-handles and DM101 - I think I know what I'd like to do with a starting-handle - handle end first. ;)

Would you like to borrow the one from my Landy? It's about a mile long.
