    You seem very knowledgeable ;)

Can you recommend me something for my budget, unlocked, PAYG, with a 5"+ screen.

Not really. My knowledge goes only as far the search I did for myself. I have a qualifying PAYG SIM, so will pay less that someone who does not.
As an example £39.99 for the Moto E 2nd Gen for £39.99 as compared to up to £89.99 without a qualifying PAYG SIM.
    Moto G (2nd Gen) for £89.99.
But apart from the obvious specification, you need to look at software and firmware updates. Will any of them be updated beyond earlier versions of Lollipop? Moto G 2nd and 3rd Gen are likely to be upgraded to Marshmellow.
So you have to think about what you want from a phone.
I don't even own an Android or Apple mobile.

No, the first Moto G did not have a SD card slot (but the Vodafone First Smart 6 does - so easily increase the memory to 32Gbyte).

I am after a new mobile as my battery is playing up. Is the Vodafone first smart 6 phone, text and camera okay for this phone ? I am not too worried about internet access; although I may need it on occasions. For info, my PAYG is with ASDA mobile. I assume that I can use ASDA PAYG sim with this phone.

    Thanks.

It's £25. Camera will be relatively poor.

    110% recommended!
This phone is fantastic!! The only thing I can fault it on is that it feels cheap, but honestly that's not even a real problem! It's just as good as my iPhone quite frankly, and my bf loves it.
    Yes, I recommend this product
You get a fair bit for your money:

Vodafone Smart First 6 - now half price at Argos

    99p to unlock

  • Your knowledge is more greater than mine

5" screen, with internet, texting, odd music video, music files, something very basic, I'm not really into all the specs on a phone, as along as it does what I want above, I'll be happy.

It doesn't even have to be new, I've been looking on ebay at HTC, Samsung S4,etc., etc.,

    Surely you are joking? :)

    It's not half price.

£25 from Vodafone without the need to purchase a top-up.

According to Argos it is half price (and some people may prefer not to wait around for mail order deliveries).

  • Thanks. I will use my L2Shop vouchers to get this so it is not costing me anything lol !

    :D

Argos may require that you purchase a £10 Vodafone top-up. Don't think that one can use it on the ASDA network.
