Hi everyone sorry I haven't been posting thank you for all your kind messages and Christmas and New year messages same to all of you.
Sadly things have gotten far worse and I feel things have spiralled out of control again. Emotionally I have had an awful few months and am now being treat for depression in all honestly I probably should have went to the doctors a long time ago but it's done now.
Struggling to get my head back above water in terms of debt Sorry I've let you all down after you have been so supportive x0 -
I completely get what you mean about keeping up with the Jones's. But everyone here is right in saying that they're all probably living beyond their means too and might actually like the opportunity to do some free socialising with you (if that's where the money goes!). Look out for free events locally. For example, I live in the north west, where there's the free fireworks championships in Blackpool, the Lancashire Science Festival in Preston and the Kite Festival in St Annes. Find out whats going on where you are and invite friends along. Also, call it a New Years Resolution to see how little money you can live on. Call it a challenge and people might not think any more of it - there's no need to tell all and sundry about your debt if you don't want to.

:hello:
Hi POPS we missed you, so glad you are back.
Anyway Mrs don't you dare apologise no one has let anyone down.
Honestly pops you need to get yourself well and we are all here to support you no matter how much you owe, or how much you have paid back, or even if you have slipped a little etc etc. :A Its what this forum is about. You are not the first and you certainly wont be the last.
You have taken a massive step in seeing the GP and that's a start right there.
Have you looked at Stepchange, maybe they may be able to help you if you are struggling to meet payments etc The last thing anyone wants is for you to get not well over money.
Keep posting even if its to get things off your chest

Hey popstess
Don't be sorry at ALL.
I have been very down since my LBM, reflecting on it. I think I'm not surprised, burrowing all feelings with spending, when you then face the debt and don't spend to bury your feelings there is nowhere to hide and it feels pretty awful.
I have double the amount of debt and knowing that it will take me at least three years to repay makes me so angry and upset BUT we should be proud that we had a LBM and we stopped before it got so much more worse...
We are all here to support each other. Come back here for support its so so important.LBM 26.12.2015

I've been following your diary, though haven't managed to read all of it yet but didn't want to read an run. You haven't let anyone down - just think how much further ahead than all those who are still yet to have their LBM. Big hugs and well done for coming so far. xxFeb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Hang in there Popstress. I've been where you are (approximately) and I guarantee it does get better. If you have the energy try to take some of the advice on here re Stepchange, posting your SoA etc. You are doing amazingly well to have faced up to it. I suffer with depression too and now how awful it can be. Get yourself well and take care XDebt paid off: £19,999 Debt remaining: NONE!!:money::eek::):j:j:j:j:j:j0

Popstess you have not let anyone down. You are ill, depression is horrible, cut yourself some slack. Also its a horrible time of year, dark and gloomy.
Just hang on in there and the sun will come out again (literally and metaphorically)Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)0 -
Thanks everyone will keep popping in. Need to sit down with my finances again and work out what's what0

Just here to agree with the others, you've not let anyone down at all. In fact, you've done a great thing in seeing your GP. There is no way you could sort your debt out without getting yourself some help with depression. You've done that, and that will be on going help. Step one done. Next, sit and do that SOA. Thats step 2... then you know where you're starting from, however high or low the debt, you need to know exactly where you are with it. Then, if you need to, call stepchange and get them to help. It's what they are there for. I've read so many posts by people who were down, not sleeping, terrified, ashamed who contact stepchange, get a payment plan on place via them and then post on here saying how lovely the stepchange people are and how they've slept a full night for the 1st time in a long time.
You can have all that worry put into a plan within a couple of weeks. Make time, find the energy and start 2016 in a good way. You're doing so well so far.PAYDBX 2016 #55 100% paid! :j Officially bad debt free...don't count my mortgage.
Now to start saving...it's a whole new world!!0
