  • Travelling to NYC next week and looking for info from you lovely people please.

Are there any outlet mall type things like there are in Florida in NYC or surrounding area ? I am not driving so would have to be accessible by public transport/taxi.

All hints and tips would be appreciated as I am travelling with 2 teenage girls and know that this is going to cost me a small fortune !!

    Thank you

  • Hi Markymoo,

Thanks for that .... realised after I had posted that there was a way to search the actual thread for topics, thought I would have had to search through all of it page by page.

    Thanks again

  • hello, ive just done a search for outlet villages in NY, as im going there in a couple of weeks, and i found this:

    http://www.premiumoutlets.com/

if you sign up to be a VIP, which is free and takes 30 seconds, you get a load of coupons for various different things in various places (not just the outlet mall). i havent gone through them all properly (just skimmed) but it looks quite good. you can choose whatever part of the US you are going to - so it doesnt JUST apply to NY. Could be anywhere in the US providing they have a mall nearby.

Can anyone help me with a query i have - during the 'luxury hotels of the world' competition period a few months back, which i am sure someone must remember considering how much discussion it aroused, some clever person found a website that is practically the same as this one, and posted the address for everyone to read the conversations the US were having about the competition (made good reading). I want to find that website again, as i assume it will have details of cheap stuff and offers, but do you think i can find it? can i heck. anybody help? NY must have a site very similar to this one and it would be very very useful if i could find it!

there is an ugg store in NYC
there are about 450 gap stores, and about 200 abercrombie stores... best thing to do with them, is check the american websites, click on store locator, and find what is near to you*

as for the grand union hotel it's 150th out of 413 hotels in new york.
tripadvisor is your friend for getting info about your hotel - http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g60763-d122015-Reviews-Hotel_Grand_Union-New_York_City_New_York.html

abercrombie - there is one at south street seaport, one on 5th avenue...
gap kids- there is one at south street seaport, one on 5th avenue...
ugg store - 79 Mercer Street, New York, or up on the upper east side.
