Hiyas - I'd be very grateful if anyone would give me a heads up for deals in October for EDI-NYC/EWK... I'm looking but not finding anything spectacularly good - will post if I do.
    Thanks, all!

  • Hello, I thought I had found a bargain flight from LHR to JFK for £137 on comparison site Momondo. This is leaving on Wednesday 10th September and coming back on Tuesday 7th October. It is an American Airlines flight through Bahamas Air. However, I thought it seemed too good to be true and it probably is. On the Bahamas Air website, there are no flights listed to JFK. Its all very frustrating! Let me know if anyone has any more luck getting this mysterious bargain flight.

I did EDI - EWR via AMS in April and got a good deal through Expedia - flights were KLM to AMS then Northwest. Going back in October this time EDI-AMS-JFK. booked a few weeks ago and were around £260 for the flights. Currently showing around £310 in October if you play about with dates. We booked through Expedia and have the flights + 5 nights in the Salisbury Hotel for £1324 for 2 (and went through quidco so have some £s to get back)

Hi, hope someone can answer a query relating to an earlier post re flights to nyc.
I've been trying to book via the nwa japan site but am unable to do so - because of non japanese residency.
Is there any way around this as the price is too good to be true (I think it is £165 for an indirect rtn from man to nyc via amstdm) on 13/11 -23/11.
    Cheers
    Soul

I've just read through all 26 pages and I'm cross-eyed and still don't know what to do:undecided so here goes:

I want to go to NY 3-10 April next year. I was going to go along with the 3-month rule (thanks Markymoo) but now that BA have got their sale on the prices have come down to £320 each rtn. As approx £240 of that is taxes and charges do you think they could possibly go any lower? I'm quite willing to wait just asking for advice.

    Thanks in advance.
P.S. I can fly from anywhere south-ish (Heathrow, Bristol, Gatwick, Birmingham)
  • Possibly have a look at the thread that mentions booking using a foreign website. We have just booked 4 people for New Year for £650 total using the australian expedia website.

bargain and a half, similar to the Japanese site but you are able to book it.
    :naughty:

    Many thanks, Caz3121!

I've done the Ed - Amsterdam - Newark flight and while the price is good, my spine won't tolerate it any more...alas... Isn't Schipol huge?! lol. There used to be EDI - Shannon - JFK/Boston flights with AerLingus.... which were great, as your passport control was done in Shannon, thus avoiding the huge queues in the US.... *sigh*

Generally, I fly Continental to Newark (go to US on avg 1 x yr)

Ta for the reminder about Expedia & Quidco - will do a price alert thingy and think about going last minute. :-)
