Cheap Flights to New York

Have read your new thread but tried your link and not sure I'm understanding the bit about what class flights are in - kinda got lost when entered site.
Can you also advise if flights for 2 from Glasgow are a good price - £580 for one stop via amsterdam and £686 non stop.
Hve looked at a hotel think its the Belleclaire Coming in at £54 per night room only - reviews are ok say room is a bit small nothing else negative. It is described as shared bath - take it this means no en-suite? think you can get rooms for £75 these might be better. Any advice appreciated Thinking of going 18 jan for 3 nights0 -
i'll try make the things about class codes a bit clearer.... it was a late night effort..
basically, class codes are a way of defining how much you've paid, how much is discounted etc.
£686 for 2 tickets nonstop IMO is slightly expensive, also, i prefer not to fly into europe to get out, have a look at maybe flying to paris, (air france) or dublin, or even a short hop to manchester...
shared bath, means all you get in your room is a bed... a bed, and then you wander out into the corridor, half way down, and queue for the bathroom / loo etc... (worst case scenario)... (belleclaire hotel 81/338, its not bad!)0 -
Thanks will keep trawling - always seem to pay more trying to get from Glasgow! Not sure about toilet thing - only get what you pay for I suppose.0

Evening all,
I think I need your help! Following from my other posts on the previous page, I am still having trouble finding flights that come within Markymoo's price guide (something I'm choosing to stick to now!!)...
I can't get anything less than £370 per person - does anyone have any tips please?
We need to fly on 25 Aug 08 (the day after our wedding day) but can fly a day later if needs be; we'll just get a hotel somewhere nice for the 25th in the UK!
Our budget will stretch to about 10 nights I think - we have plans to do a fly drive and spend 5ish days in NYC, 3 days in Boston and a couple in between, whilst travelling the relatively short journey!
This means we might be better off doing two single flights to/from different airports but I'm a complete novice so have no idea whether this is possible!
Any help please ladies and gents?0 -
just a point on flights and expedia.... i've just been playing around looking for my flights for March..
i'm flying from manchester, and when i put in MAN - NYC. the best price it can get is £318, which involves a change at Amsterdam..
now.. i've just changed my search to be MAN - LGA, this brings up a US Airways flight, via PHL, but the price is £308.. so i'm saving £10 already, just by being a bit more specific with my flight search..
What i'm saying is, that it can sometimes pay off to be more specific with your flight search, rather than using the collective "NYC" or "New York", use the airport codes in individual searches, and you might grab a bargain..
NYC - Collective New York Airport Code
JFK - JFK Airport
EWR - Newark Airport
LGA - La Guardia Airport (will always involve a change, as only internal US flights land here!)0 -
Im trying to find some cheap flights for at least 4 people from Manchester to Liverpool (30th bday celebrations), at the moment, all I can find is around the £500 mark =( Anyone have any ideas?0

How many miles apart are they?
A bloody great white stretch limo wouldn't cost you that much!0 -
Try American Airlines, From Manchester. You have to play about with it a bit but you should find they are cheap. It's an ok airline, not the best but it does exactly what you need and the seating is more than enough.
Hope this helps
