Hi All, I am planning to go to NY with other half in Jan/Feb for long week end (Thurs-Tues) does anyone know of any deals around for flights&hotel packages? We are wanting to ideally speend about £350-£400 per person, is this reasonable?
Also we are wanting to stay in the central park area can anyone recommend a nice hotel? Which airport would be best to fly to (and what is the approx. cost to central park?)
Many thanks in advance for your help

MissT... £400 is scraping the budget a bit for a NYC holday at the moment... flights are around £250 at the moment... leaving you only £150 for a hotel... a "nice" hotel will be at the least £75 - £90 a night, so you'll be sleeping in central park for 3 of your 5 nights...
a cheap small dirty hotel, you might get for £50 a night, and hostels are around £20 a night...
hope that gives you some kind of idea...

Sorry the reply's a bit late. The woman in question was just looking at sites on the internet but she'd left it too late and ended up in a hotel. Sorry it wasn't more use!!0

Looking for some help please. Am off to New York for a friend's 40th in June. We are thinking of arranging a limo to take us around the night of her actual birthday and I've seen a couple of sites advertising 'Champagne tours' - where you basically get an hour in a limo and free champagne, which would be perfect. Has anyone used a company they could recommend and does anyone have any ideas as to where we could go for a nice restaurant (a bit vague but I'm just looking for a couple of recommendations).
Thanks in advance for your help.0 -
im flying to JKF on the 7th of December and staying in the Hyatt Place Hotel, Secaucus, NJ. Can any one advise me on how best to get to the hotel? and how much it will cost. And I will have suitcases with me if that matters…0

Hi, we are off to New York on 28th December coming back on the 3rd January. We are flying Silverjet into Newark airport and are staying a The Four Seasons. There are four of us going, myself, my sister and my mum and dad. My sister and I are disabled so don't really want to take a cab from the airport to the hotel, can anyone suggest any good taxi companies that have accessible vehicles that we could book in advance?
Also, my sister was thinking of hiring a mobility scooter to be delivered to the hotel, but my only worry was would it be feasible if it was snowing, what are the sidewalks like and are most of the museums, shops etc accesible?
Any help/advice greatly appreciated. Thank You.0 -

no need to shout on this thread, everything gets read..
as for flying into JFK, and staying in New Jersey, well that probably wasn't the most sensible idea, as you're flying into the furthest away airport from your location, the best thing would have been to fly to Newark.
anyway, i'd suggest checking out a car service to take you to NJ, carmelcarservice.com is one, and try get a price from them. you'll probably be looking at nearly $90 though..

snow in NYC... its great.. however, majority of the time it is just slush, and the sidewalks are fine. the only problems might be road junctions, etc, but there is normally a way across..
as for getting from airport to hotel, carmelcarservice have various cars, as do telaviv... there are plenty of other car services, but i know of non that specialise in accessible vehicles.. check out them two and let me know how you get on..
