Looking for some help please. Am off to New York for a friend's 40th in June. We are thinking of arranging a limo to take us around the night of her actual birthday and I've seen a couple of sites advertising 'Champagne tours' - where you basically get an hour in a limo and free champagne, which would be perfect. Has anyone used a company they could recommend and does anyone have any ideas as to where we could go for a nice restaurant (a bit vague but I'm just looking for a couple of recommendations).
Thanks in advance for your help.
a limo is a limo is a limo... meh! i've used them a couple of times, to go to the airport, when there has been 4 of us, because there is plenty of room in that sense.. there are plenty of companies that will let you hire a limo on an hourly basis, however, 2 hours is normally the minimum i've seen...
personally, you can see the city anyway around, and spend your money on a nice meal.. but thats just me...0 -
Can anyone recommend a collectibles shop in new york. Mainly ceramic collectibles. It is a hobby of ours and we would like to see what sort of things are available in new YorkThe best work is the cheapest as the quality remains long after the price is forgotten0

richie23, i think you'll be the third / fourth person i've sent to that hotel, and i've not had any complaints..
as for flying out to NYC, always fly out in the morning.
if you fly out at midday, the flight takes around 8 hours (8pm - 5hrs = 3pm landing time..
if you fly out at 10pm, 1am landing time, so you've wasted a day, and also a lot of money on a hotel room for half a night... it ain't worth it..

i thought it would have been better to land evening so you could sleep and clear the jet lag??0 -
Hello.
My brother is getting married in NYC in June.
We are beginning to think in terms of logistice as there will be family heading out etc.
Ideally we would like some form of apartment set up for a week. A few days either side of the wedding. Either a three bed apartment for five people (two doubles and one single) or possibly a three person (one double, one single) as well as a double.
We would also like the option of getting more as other family members head out but will concentrate on the core requirements of the above.
Firstly are we too early to look for such a thing?
Secondly, does anyone have any recommendations?0 -
Looking to go NYC at the end of March whats the cheapest we could get flights for around then? Everywhere I've looked so far has been over £300 per person?
Thanks0 -

you only get jetlagged on the way back, because you lose 5 hours...
on the way out to NYC, you gain 5 hours, so stay up late, yes, you may be tired, and it is a long day, but i say, if you can brave it, and stay up til around midnight NYC time, and get 8 hours solid sleep, you'll have converted to the time, and have a great holiday. If you don't, you'll still be stuck on UK time, and wanting to go to sleep early.
you will have paid for a hotel room, for 7 nights, and you'll end up with staying in it for 7 nights, but then losing half a day of shopping etc.. waste of money IMO...0
