Can anyone recommend a good guide book for NYC please?

    I like
    Rough Guide for historical/background/area info
    Time Out for good bars/eats/ents
    Eye Witness for pics

depends what you're looking for in a guide I guess

I now take NFT (Not For Tourists) with me, as it is page after page of just maps, and information of what is in the area, from coffee shops, to bagels, shopping to bars and restaurants..

There isn't any "guide" as such, but it is a great pocket sized map book, that doesn't fold out huge, so you don't stand out like a tourist!!!!

  • looking to fly 20/08 til about 28/08 give or take some days (as late as 22/08 - the wedding is on the 23rd)

Cheapest I've found so far is continental at £354...is that a good price for August?

I know I'm not quite at the 3 month mark, I'm just getting antsy.

    TIA

Just a quick hello from T6 at JFK!

Flight from Man was excellent, I am really impressed with Delta (especially as I was expecting the worst!). My only criticism was that I was not allowed an exit row seat because I was on my own!!! So I had a little moan and have been guaranteed one on the way back. Saying that, I was more than happy wih the legroom, so all good!

So now I am just waiting for my JetBlue flight to Boston. Nice little terminal, and free wifi! x
    Gone ... or have I?
  • have a great time dmg.
point of interest for northern people wishing to fly to new york ....BA are withdrawing the manchester to jfk service in october (it's going from gatwick now!!!!! i presume this relates to the BA jfk slot that the new flight will fill)
someone suggested BA should be re-branded as London Airways

i can get you a flight for £75..... you would be flying from Philadelphia, USA, to NYC, USA...... is that no good?
(meaning, it would help if you told us what airport you're travelling from, so we can find the right price)

I think your maths is a little shaky (or maybe your typing) ;)
Quick look on www.aa.com brought up £339 *including* tax for New York in November flying direct.
