hmm.. i can get £349 on the same flights with delta... no idea why mine is £4 cheaper.... are you booking through https://www.delta.com?0

No, it was through STAtravel. As I am a student I was hoping to get a cheaper fare on there. Thanks for that anyway, is this the best im going to get at this stage do you think?0

looking at people's comments about customs / immigration in the US reminds me of last Jan when I flew into JFK. I'm not quite sure why but the guy who was checking our passports decided that I needed "further questioning" and dragged me off to a side room. The upshot of it all is that apparantly there is someone with the same first name, last name and date of birth as me who is wanted in the States and they had to check me out. They were all very professional although at the time I was more than a little scared.
If it does happen to anyone else just stay calm and be as nice as possible, it always gives you a story to tell when you get home!!0 -
We went from Dublin and the customs are this end. Much easier than when you get there

We (myself, wife, kid) are looking to go to NY in August. What prices are the usual rate around that time? Not cheap I suspect
Going from London I should probably add.0 -

surprisingly the fares can be relatively cheap in august ....some offers will come out at some point (the downside can be the heat at that time of year)0 -

Just been reading some of the posts on thsi thread - wow!! I am off to NY for the first time at the beginning of Nov - 8 of us travelling from Heathrow with Delta so I am glad to hear some good reports about them. What are the food and drinks like on Delta - what do you get and is there a separate charge for this? Is there much choice?
Will there be any shopping offers on at this time as i would love to do some christmas shopping over there:) Markymoo - I saw your post that mentioned a free bag at macys and a free gift at bloomingdales - how do we get these - do we need a voucher or something?
also - we are stayoing at the st james hotel times square - has anyone been there and is it ok?
thanks loads, deb xxxxx0 -
Delta - Food.. its standard coach class affair.... 2 choices, not too bad...
drinks - soft drinks are free. alcohol is £3 or $5...
free bag at macy's? just spend $50, and take your receipt to the visitors center.... you'll have already been there to pick up your 11% discount card so you'll know where it is
gift at bloomies... same... i think... its been ages since i've been there0 -
