  • Hi markymoo or any other kind moneysaver am hoping to go to New York around the 10th July for 4 or 5 days with my two children 16 & 18. The cheapest flights from Heathrow I can find at the moment are arount £450 with Delta. Is this what I should be expecting to pay around this time. Am flexible date wise in that could go anytime from the 10th to the 15th but prices all seem pretty much the same.

there is nothing cheaper... at the moment... we're only just in the 3 month window...
try booking the flight (but not actually pay for it!), and see how full the plane is... if it is really full, the price won't move, if it is empty, the price may drop!
  • Thanks for the advice will try that

Hiya, going this Wednesday morning to the wonderful NY. Was just wondering if there is a site where I can print off vouchers/coupons to use in Manhattan so I can print a few before we go.

Going in the £150 flight offer, from this January. Cant wait. Only thing that is scaring me right now is the custom officers on the way back but we wont have more than £300 in goods back.

Sorry some people say its £145 to bring back BUT no one ever states if its per person.
Two different people so isnt it £290 for the both of us?

You're entitled to bring back £145 of goods per person, please note this does not mean that if you are with your wife etc and you purchase a camera etc and its over £145 that you can use their allowance.

Also if you spend over £145 then the vat and duty on the goods is calculated on everything you have purchased not the difference on the £145.

Also please note that JFK duty free are currently doing a buy 400 cigs and get 200 free, I stopped someone this morning with 600 cigs in a carrier bag, between two people and they explained the situ and was assured in JFK they could purchase what they wanted but didnt mention paying the duty on the goods.

    All the best

I am going to NY on Friday and printed off loads of vouchers from here - hope they are all accepted when I get there. If I remember will let people know when I get back.
