zoom don't come up on the normal searches, you have to go onto their website to search.. however, they don't rate highly, but are a bargain airline

if you don't mind have the possibility of a delay, losing a day or 2 of your holiday, then flyzoom are a great way of getting to NYC... (this is just what i've read, not my experiences, but personally, i'd never fly LCC on a TATL trip, i'd always use a hybrid or Full Service Carrier)

there currently isn't much around for july that i'd class as a good fare.

I am going to NY in 2 days time, and by far the most shocking thing was the price of the hotels. If it wasnt for family connections we wud be staying in a dumpsite coz the prices are Out There.

From where? Not Gatwick surely, I'm getting prices of £400+

Yeah from Gatwick to JFK... it would be £400+ Return. I was talking about just a one way flight.

Thank you for all your help... OH has changed his mind and wants to go to Los angeles now.

I would love to go to both Los angeles and New york but flight prices are just too expensive =( Thanks again!

Anyone bought and used the New York City Pass? Worth it?

Does it entitle you to unlimited visits/entries into each attraction? Or does it entitle one entry?

i.e. would you be able to go up the Empire State during the day and at night with it?

afaik, it is one entry into each of the places..

personally, i wouldn't use it enough to warrant it...

Also, top of the rock is a hell of a lot better than empire state!

Has anybody stayed at the Desmond Tutu Center? It appears to be a bit out of the way, but the reviews on TripAdvisor are excellent.

I have found a rate of $175 plus taxes, which is only marginally more expensive than a single (shared bath) at The Pod.

    Any opinions? x

have you thought about... (wait for it..) the cosmopolitan hotel...

you can get $185 plus tax for a room with a private bath... :p

just to be kind, and to answer your question... nope.. i've not stayed there.... though tripadvisor is normally really reliable..
