We are off there on Tuesday, so excited I might pop.0

I'm planning to go to New York during the first week of July and following advice on this forum realise that now would be the time to book.
Does anyone know of deals/offers on flights from London to New York?
Thanks:beer:MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS:beer:0 -
If you look at the guides on this forum there is lots of advice. markymoo has a 3 month rule fort tickets which seems to work for him, and if you are flying from a major airport like Heathrow/Manchester probably applies. I booked my flights from Newcastle with BA last October outside this 3 month rule, which is only a guide, and there has been nothing cheaper for me since despite 2 so called BA sales. I am now due to fly through T5 next week- god help me!0

me too, in 9 days. I hope everything is sorted out.

when we booked we were to choose between virgin pe and BA WT+. Thankfully we chose virgin as we are flying from heathrow.
I hope everything is sorted for when you are due to travel Christa.0 -
Thanks Lady S, I have been following the news and it's frightening. I am just passing through T5 so luggage should go straight through from Newcastle to JFK- in theory!! We are flying out of T4 to NY. There is no way I can afford to re book flights at the current price if things are still not sorted by next week, and this is for my daughter's 18th birthday( Sunday gone) which I booked last yaear! Fingers crossed.0

I will keep my fingers crossed, would suggest you keep a change of clothes in your hand luggage just incase. ( I do this anyway, I am paranoid about my case doing missing).
We packed this morning as we have the children this weekend. Managed to get them both to about 12kg so I am chuffed.0 -
i don't think i've ever known any airline that i've flown with to the US, to actually weigh handluggage.....
bear in mind i've done 10 trips to NYC..
BA
American
AirFrance
AerLingus
US Airways * 4
Delta
none of these ever weighed my hand luggage.. no one even asked to see if it would fit into their stupid box things......
i've only ever not had my luggage on arrival once.... and that was a BA - American - MAN-LHR, it didn't make the transfer, but arrived at my hotel the next morning.... woohoo..... luckily, as ususal, i had packed spare essentials in my hand luggage, so i went out... got drunk, and when i woke up the next morning.. i went downstairs to reception, and my luggage was waiting for me.... so if it does happen, they're normally good at getting it there...

To be honest the luggage thing wouldn't bother me, but i am larger than your average bear, and the chances of me being able to get even a bra in a shop fairly easily is nil. It just takes some of the pressure off me, as I will worry all the way there ( and back).
While you are here... another question.
When we get to passport control in JFK, do my husband and I approach separately, or do we go up together?
( to put this in perspective last place we went to was Tenerife and we just wandered past and they didn't blink at us)0
