Ooh why did I start this thread at this time of day? My stomach is rumbling and now I'm drooling! It's a good look! (And I still have more than half an hour to go at work.....)

Ooooo yes that's another one we no longer buy! DS used to run down the shop for a tinned Heinz sponge if we fancied pudding but now I can make one just as quick in the microwave and add whatever flavouring I like to it :D

    ... and much cheaper too!!!!

Every Saturday, and more often than not most Sundays too, MrJudi and i would go out for breakfast to the local bikers cafe. It cost him about £10 a time with the full cooked breakfast and a cuppa. Although i enjoyed not having to cook the breakfast, i always felt guilty about the cost. So now, i cook a full cooked breakfast at home at a fraction of the cost..... mind you i miss not having to cook it but at least i know the foods fresh.

I can't be a committed as the rest of you, I can still cheerfully munch my way through a Chinese or pizza takeaway as a treat:D :o, admittedly (Sp?) I do get very very thirsty afterwards but I have always assumed thats beacuse I grew up on a salt free diet?.

If it helps any other Chinese takeaway munchers feel guilt free, Chinese food in China is equally salty & highly coloured, although doesn't taste anything like UK Chinese takeaway but I suspect that's because we have food hygiene laws & ingredient control here:eek:

I will admit to having a sweet tooth, but I find chinese take-aways too sweet and too artificial too. However, the one thing I can't eat now is an Indian take-away, because of the salt. I always knew they were salty, but now I can't stomach that much - in fact, it never reaches my stomach on account of the fact that my mouth can't take that much.

We were never really allowed fizzy drinks as kids, but I did used to like American Cream Soda and Dandelion & Burdoch - trouble is, I know what's in them now, so whilst I still like the taste, I won't drink them.

And fish 'n' chips did used to taste better out of newspaper :) (Ok, I'm only old enough to remember the outer wrapping being newspaper, but must have been the smell :))

Oh I definitely agree on that, they just don't taste like what they used to, not that I really eat them these days ;)

CQ - I don't have any sort of take-away very often, but I did send Mr TM to the chippy last saturday night and very nice they were too - and far too many :)

I wasn't so much a ticklemouse as a bloated mouse that night :D

Edit to keep Sir Squeaks happy :D

So I couldn't really enjoy my chippy treat cos I was so bloated ....

Will that do Sir? Please, pretty please?

We better watch out Mr Squeaks don't come along with his whip.gif in a moment to stop all this chatter in these two threads :D

It's about time you old hands caught on to the trick of adding a bit that is obviously on topic at the tag end of your posts...

..that'd help keep the youngsters in line too! :p;):)

Squeaky - above edited. Will that do. Now, for this post ...erm.....

I used to really enjoy Cadbury's cream eggs, but I find that not only have they shrunk, but the creme inside is often a bit 'gritty'. Or is that just me?
