  • Morning all,

Pay day today, really low pay compared to usual as ive had no commission at all! Never happened before. Luckily
I did 4 days over time, so that bumped it up a bit!

Cant afford to make any over payments this month, but even minimum payments bring my debt down by at least 1% so positive thinking i suppose!!

    Nsd yesterday, number 10.

Not much else to report really. Feeling a bit down tbh about the money situation and need to snap out of it.

Work have told me that i may have been over paid in expenses by almost £500, im devestated. I'll find out today what's happening. :(
Still here..... but working on that!

    Hi all.

CCL - hope all goes well at the Doctors today.

LSD - how awful about your expenses, if they are right will they take it back in small amounts?

The kids broke up from school yesterday and it is just the 3 of us today. Not much planned though, I am going to strip all the beds and we may go and visit my parents later. I will make hm pizza for tea and go for a run plus the usual dog walking.

I used the 20% ebay code that was on this site yesterday. One of DS's christmas presents is some bigger football goals for the garden, I nearly bought a £70 set from Tesco last week but the checkout wouldn't work. The ones I really wanted from another company had a £7.95 p&p charge which seemed a lot, anyway they are an ebay seller too and they had free postage although they had added it onto the item price but I got 20% off meaning I paid £51 - I am very pleased. The money for these was already saved too.

LSD Just had a wee chuckle at your acronym, never noticed. Sorry off topic. Sorry to hear about your overpaid expenses. I wish they would do it right in the first place. They can't just expect you to cough up 500 quid if it was their fault. Hope you get sth sensible and affordable sorted.

CCL good luck at the doctors.

DD was up at 5 again, so 3 hours of hanging about before we got moving. So slightly overdosed on coffee this morning and feel now queasy. Will pop to the shops today and just get some fresh stuff and to complement what;s in my freezer/cupboard to make up my next 7 day meal plan. Should come in at £30 because that's all I got left.

Will look up an easy apple pie to use up the last of our apple and take to to DH cousin's tomorrow for desert. Sun we have a kids pirate birthday party and present/card has already been bought. Just need to make DS a pirate costume out of some old clothes and convince DD to put on the charity shop bargain pirate(tess?) dress.

  • dolly yes they will let me pay back in small amounts if its wrong, but a small amount to me and a small amount to a finance director will probably be different!! :-/ one things for sure is that they cant have it all at once because i dont have it!! :rotfl:

thrifty i know, i didnt plan my initials very well, i'll have to make sure i name the baby better!! Lol.
Poor you being up at 5, ds (2) was up between 12.30 and 1.30, and theres nothing worse than lack of sleep so i really feel for you.

Apologies for not posting much lately, so sorry Dolly.

Life seems so busy at the moment, good news back is feeling lot better. Had a hectic week work - end of financial year, and grandson off school half term so seem to have had him all the time and til late all week. He's lovely but overtired most of the time, like me. So excited to be child free today. Can have a walk in daylight!:T

Seeing as haven't been away this year decided to book a hotel for a gig going to in a couple of weeks, wasn't happy hanging around for train for over hr by myself late at night. So having a night in Liverpool, hope to get my xmas shopping done and maybe Beatles tour? Got a good deal includes brekkie and just seen on expedia got a fiver back off them.

Will update my totals in a bit, think I have been too busy to spend much anyway. SFD 12/20 including today.

LSD how annoying for you, especially as we all work to a very tight budgets. Think we should have a Snap Out of it club to cheer us debt worriers up, I have felt fed up lately as not getting anywhere with debt reduction.

    Weekend plans are;-

Tomorrow think Pumpkin carving taking place in my house, my kids and grandson around. I will make a hot pot tonight to keep us going. Last year we paid to do it somewhere and I was so annoyed they threw the inside of the pumpkins away.

Sunday night getting treated to belated birthday meal.

Hoping for a SFD weekend or tiny spend.

Paid 20 off one card yesterday as 0% interest finishes Dec, will be clear by then.

Will catch up proper reading this thread later tonight, if I stay awake

    Hi everyone :)

I do hope we are feeling a lot better with all the bugs, tiredness and feelings of being fed up flying about. My lack of iron and daftly trying to keep off tablets took it's toll and I had to get some iron tablets the other day and feel so much better.

I can identify with wanting to get the debt done and dusted and have been fed up to be back in it and I have the holiday which makes me feel a bit uneasy, but happy at the same time so understand your sentiments Andar :)
I too spent extra not to pay a delivery charge the other day. I needed a replacement charger for DD's old laptop rather than buy a new laptop and it works a treat. I bought two travel guides for San Diego as I was thinking of going there also. I think that is now terribly ambitious, but we'll see.

I've probably spent 3 times so far this whole month as I am well aware that I must spend a lot less than I have coming in to clear what I owe and avoid my routes of old.

Mothernerd great to see you sounding so positive. Best wishes to everyone and take care of yourselves :)

    Hi Turtles
My brief update is that I'm still ill and bored of it. Had a NSD again today so almost at target.

LittleSkintDragon - how did this happen? Surely it's their fault not yours? I don't understand how they could think they've overpaid you so much?

Dolly- hope the day at home was nice and relaxing with the children.

Calling - hope you enjoy your hotel stay and tour. Sounds great. What a waste to bin the pumpkin insides.

Fmess - thanks for asking after me. Hope you enjoy half term.

Thrifty -the LSD thing isn't new though as people use that to describe low spend days which always makes me chuckle ;)

Traveller - iron tablets are not that lovely to take are they. I've just finished a fortnight's course of them. I am so glad I'm finished!

Right off to cough up another body part ;)

  • bob i claim for petrol milesge and they said that i'd been claiming to much. They'd looked back to a year or so ago.
Anyway the good news is that it's all ok, and it was the finance directors fault :) i cannot tell you how relieved i was when my manager rung!!
I do a lot of over time, which i claim for which she thought i was getting paid with my salary. The annoying thing is that i spend ages filling the forms in and making sure ive got it all right, because i'm not the kind of person to try to do them out of money.

Nsd today think that makes 10, I'll double check.

ccl - how did it go at the doctor's?

stewby - hope work has calmed down.

bob - get well soon. Hopefully, being bored means that you are on the mend.

traveller - good move on replacing the charger.

calling - did you get a walk in daylight today? Was is nice to not have your dgs, or did you miss him?!

Hoping to get in a short run tomorrow, while dd is at her dance classes - 2 short runs, if I'm up to it!
