I think abundant had offered, but we've not seen him this month, so I'd assume he'll not be able to do it. Am happy to volunteerNST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Hi all, back after a few days of busy. I'm off work this week so It meant on Friday I didn't leave the office until 9pm as I had so much to do. We've had three birthdays in our small team this week so Friday was also a spend day to get some flowers which was my allocated job. Luckily work paid for the lunch out which was great otherwise I'd have been screwed as I knew I had to save my money for yesterday which was a hen doo day out at the rugby. The bus cost £26, we each had to have a tshirt at £8 and then another £3.40 for the hen's tshirt and train ticket there as it was a surprise for her. Hilarious thing is I actually don't even know the hen as I've just joined the team! It was an awesome day out though so I can't complain, I'm just terrible hungover right now so eating all my leftover stodge. Pay day on Thursday, it can't come soon enough!
Fmess you've inspired me to update all my budgets and work out exactly what I have left to pay.0 -
Sunny Sunday everyone! Thanks dolly for asking about me. I've been hiding in my shell for a good few weeks. Last post in was 9th of October. I tried posting twice but both posts got eaten by the Internet and life has been very hectic and overtaken by work. I have just finished 5 consecutive nights which my colleagues think is either brave or stupid. My body clock is so messed up I was up since 1:30am watching Netflix and now feel like going back to bed at 2pm. So sorry for my long absence. Didn't mean to abandon you guys. Not doing terribly well with the NSD counts but surprisingly we are still within budget. We have £60 to spend till the end of this month which includes food and petrol. I am hoping to come under budget (a girl can hope right?) so I could put a bit more to the EF which has suffered a bit of a blow this month to the tune of £450. Following the crisis with the ironing board and the carpet, I have also managed to break the iron and the shower and a surprise visit from a long lost aunt etc etc. Ds1's iPhone is also on the verge of dying. What a downer. I haven't changed my sig because it will be topped up by this month end's salary. Not too bad but not too great either as I was hoping to have a much bigger EF this month, but I suppose that's what EF's are for - to cover blows caused by Murphy's law, which in the past would have been covered by bad debts. Just a bit of a reality check for me - I thought getting out of debt was hard, STAYING OUT OF DEBT is equally hard, if not harder. Sorry for being such a downer especially after being absent for most of this month's challenge.
On the job front I still have no idea when I could start my new job. I am getting so stressed out and physically exhausted in my current job I wish I could start the 9-5 shifts ASAP.
On the positive side, the blouse that I have been making in my sewing class is coming along nicely. I made my first ever dart and I had a go at using an overlocker. Me and my simple pleasures eh? I can't wait to finish my project and make another one. During one of my night shifts I hand sewed a pin cushion using a scrap fabric from my blouse and stuffed it with grated scented candle (yes I did grate a candle, how sad am I). Very MSE right?
Bob. Sorry to say my wombling had taken a bit of a back seat too. Haven't had time to scan any receipt on the cashback apps. Hoping to get back in the swing of things again when my shifts become less anti-social.
I will try to stay with you all til the end."There is Life AFTER DEBT."LBM 2009 Total Debt £49046.24 Debt Free as of 27/08/20150 -
Welcome back TOG.
Apple it looks like November is over to you unless someone else volunteers.
We were supposed to go away tomorrow in our caravan for a few days but have decided not to (or DH has), we are going to do some days out from home instead. I think it would have been chilly plus our dog sleeps in his crate in the awning and it would be very cold for him. I have money saved up for half term so no unexpected spends.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Will start plotting and planning a november challenge!
Thank you dolly for October - I know there's a fair few days left, but it continues to challenge me whenever I re-read the first post. Awesome.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
I got my mop and bucket, paintbrush and some firelighters yesterday, I used some money left over from this months fuel budget to pay for them. They were all needs so I'm OK with the spend. Nothing else spent yesterday at all. We managed to get out for a decent walk and I cycled too.
DS is playing football today and DD is riding and I need to be somewhere at 1pm so today is going to be all broken up into bits really.
Tea tonight is chicken in rotisserie garlic rub with a greek salad.
Have a good day all.
Misread the first line and was wondering what you were planning to do with the firefighters, scrub them with the mop and bucket? Sorry it's just my age, nothing happening so can only dream about what I'd do with one.
I am having a slightly strange day (or maybe week). There was a note pushed through my door, from my mother. Estate agents contacted her on Friday (I was still at her house until approx 3pm Friday) to say I have had an offer on the house. She was phoning me all day yesterday (on the wrong number as the mobile has died and she tried the new house number before it was installed, decided it didn't work and ripped it up).
I meant to give her the number again on Friday but was so stunned by her u-turn that I forgot. I was a plague rat and wasn't to go in the house just hand over the hand wash she requested at the door and be handed an envelope with some money (an advance on my Christmas money). Went back to the doctors on Friday am (hacking cough won't go away) and no sign of infection but have a new asthma inhaler (the other may be 3 years old, only use in emergencies). So I was allowed in the house, was given dinner and she was actually quite nice to me (last time she was vile, kept insisting that I could walk long distances and carry things (but shouldn't use a rucksack).
Phoned the Estate Agents, didn't open until 1pm and when I got through the woman didn't know anything about it. So no idea if the offer is good one (up to another £3000 off) or bad (another £10,000 less) but think I will be accepting it unless its outrageous. Big boss will phone first thing so may then have to do trip out to solicitors to sign paperwork etc.
I am a bit stressed about the bank account changeover. I have re-directed my WTC to new account, told DS3 to hold off on money he was due to pay me. I have taken half out in cash, so can use for food or pay into new account and I am monitoring bills going out. Talk talk bill e-mail came yesterday so decided to pay it early (10% discount), needed DS3 to transfer another £3 (energy bill due out today so may be today or tomorrow) but because of the hacking their website was down.
I have a haggle sheet written out to renegotiate the value line rental (someone was going to get back to me before the cyber attack) as when I moved house before my operation TT insisted on closing my existing account and making me pay a whole years line rental up-front (at the most inconvenient time of the year). So need to get back onto them.
DS3 is going away to a friend's house tomorrow until Wednesday maybe. I asked if I could have the rest of the money he owes, in case I need it (knew he had spent a bit of it). He wants some of it to take with him, but assures me that more money will be in his account in four days.
I think I need to draw up a list of payment options but think mine is going to end up like a decision tree. Still need to press ahead with the Token Payment Plan (did a brief think as I could possibly manage 3 months until the house sale goes through (knock on wood) by putting things on the 'spending' cc - except I've just cut up all the cards. Need to write a plan for NOW and cheer myself up with a list of things I need/ want when the house sale goes through (so far it has pegs and a new quilt on it).
Today I am grateful for good reading material (need to make notes from some of the practical ones), Doctor Who and bonfire toffee lollies (I really shouldn't but they are so good). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -

Thanks Applemuncher I feel bad not volunteering, but tablet is next to useless at home and I just sneak on Internet in work, lately so busy impossible. Hopefully one day I will get a laptop Santa????
Went for walk today nearly 7 miles with a friend. Glad she thinks same way as me, I turned up with flask coffee and cake, she brought soup. Totally unplanned but neither of us wanted to waste money on lunch out.
Stopped in Aldee on way home got onions, lemons and milk. Curried pumpkin soup made for work should last few days. Lemons trying to drink hot lemon mornings and used ones are working keeping cats off my lawn.
Welshkitty will try to find yr shop this week.
Dolly I confess that I misread yr post same as Mothernerd excitement of firefighters blurred my vision.

I will be honest... too chicken to offer as a leader of the thread. Everyone else does such amazing first posts that I would worry mine is just not good enough.
We were away for a long weekend in the bongo (campervan). Our last one of the year. It was wonderful, however, I think next year we will maybe make our last trip a bit earlier. No heating and the North of Scotland was maybe a bit foolish.
We did wildcamping which meant we don't have to pay for campsite fees. Fuel and food cost a grand total of £120 (approx £90 of that is on fuel) so we did quite well.
Not really much else to say... off until Friday so getting ready to tidy the house and everything else.
Falling out with OH a lot but not sure why... possibly cause he is happy to spend my money but not his own. It's quite worrying to think that this is how I will spend the rest of my life. Assuming it is cold feet I think. I love him millions and couldn't imagine being without him but right now just wish he would be more fair when it comes to finances. It's a weird feeling.Mortgage: £0/£80,329.91

If you have ideas for a challenge just do it, be yourself that is all that matters and I'm sure you would be much better than you give yourself credit for.
I can see how you might be annoyed with your DH if he is spending your money happily. Me and DH have never had separate money, everything goes into and out of one pot, it is old fashioned I suppose but it works for us.
