LSD - how annoying for you, it shouldn't take as long as they say to sort out, they obviously just want to hang on to your money. I cancel DD's on my online banking page as soon as I know they have had all the money they should have.
Fmess - Yay to cars that pass their MOT.
apple - how lovely of you to help out your neighbour.
traveller - hope your DS isn't poorly all half term.
We are back from our day out, it was quite a pricey one, we spent as follows:
Admission into farm - £28
Lunch £26.85
Ice Cream x 2 £3.80
The farm is expensive but everything is included when you get in (tractor rides, fairground, betting on ferret/sheep racing, indoor play). I'm OK with the spends this week as I have saved money from our monthly entertainment budget to do things - or go away as was originally planned - this week as DH is off for the week.
On the way home we spied a load of logs someone had left outside their house with a note to take them for firewood, they are now in our garden waiting to be chopped.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Has anyone here ever made their own cheese. I love halloumi and other softish cheeses but some can be very dear. It seems all I need is organic milk, rennet, some need citric acid, and a cheese cloth and a bit of time. So it seems well worth the effort?DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250

Hi All
Crawling in with my pathetic update for the day. I am really sick and I hate it. I cant even remember the last time I was and now its like ALL the sickness has decended on me.
It started to move from a standard cold/flu yesterday evening. I said to OH I feel like someone has punched me in the face, my jaw line hurts on one side, & my teeth feel like they do when you've been grinding them in your sleep but 100 x. Anyway, this morning I got up, & the other side felt like that too. I cant taste anything at all. The cold & flu meds arent touching it & I have managed to get a docs appointment in around 40 mins this evening.
I've chatted to a couple of people who said it sounds like it might be sinusitus. Its hideous whatever it is. I cant eat because my jaw hurts too much, about the same as when I had my wisdoms out & you cant move your jaw for days aftewards. Plus I have literally no appetite. Not great when Im supposed to be eating another 500 cals a day to provide for a baby, really had enough.
Anyway thats the excitement of my days at the moment. Am praying that the doctor takes pity on me and gives me something to help rather than just says time will help.
My sole act of money saving today was to pay the min on my CC, so I have just £89 now between me and being under £3,000.
Sorry not to post back to everyone else today.

Get well soon Bob!
So it's my week off work, I have about £2 to my name so I'm pretty sure I won't be spending the next few days and will almost certainly hit my target. I headed off to the scout hut today, cleared out two of the cupboards with another leader, took three hours but totally worth it. Now I know we have heaps of feathers, googly eyes and Easter craft kit but not much sellotape or pritt stick!
Tomorrow I'm off to the flicks and will probs do a bit of tidying and walk to library to return some books. Got my cinema card so won't be spending. Gonna weigh in too after my crazy weekend, think I'll have put on eeeeek!0 -
Bob- that sounds like sinusitis! I'mprone to it but find that by drinking copious amounts of water (4+ litres) and avoiding sugars and starches and bananas(!), then it really helps. I discovered the water one by having switched medication 3 times, to no avail, then I went cold turkey but with the water and hey presto! it cleared up.
Hope the dr was helpful.
mothernerd - any news on the house sale? It has been so long coming, I'm on the edge of my seat...
andrar - hope you find free fun this week.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Good evening.
Wow... apple muncher. You are an amazing neighbour. That is such a lovely thing to do.
I have spent my afternoon lurking on your MFW diary. It's become a bit addictive to read what everyone is doing. I am curious to know about your crafting. Do you sell what you make??
Might give being a leader a try in the new year. Gives me a few months to think about it and plan something special.
:undecided
Fingers crossed for the house sale mothernerd.
Littleskintdragon... what terrible news about sp. I really hope they give you the money back quick.
I contacted 5ky today and explained that we wanted to downgrade as we are currently paying £36 for the family pack... and not watching the documentaries or the kids tv.
The people I spoke to were both lovely and as a result we are now heading down to £20 a month.
I know we should really get rid of it but we do enjoy watching 5ky and do watch a lot of TV. We also record a lot of it as well for later watching.
Had stupidly locked myself out of my mortgage account so have spoken to them too and have a new code en-route.
Getting quite excited about the new year. Can't wait for the next step.
Hugs to everyone.Mortgage: £0/£80,329.91

Hugs to all poorlies and anyone else who wants one.
House offer was very poor but I am going ahead with the sale (36k less than I paid for it and not even going to think about all the time and money I have poured into it). It is what it is and we are going to keep positive. It will pay for mum's bungalow/ ground floor flat (checked before I went to the solicitors, she's not going ahead with the teeny tiny bungalow - awkward vendor - but then I had to wait an hour as they were viewing another flat. Would have made sense to combine selling and buying with one solicitor.) pay off my debts and have a small emergency/ get repairs done here fund.
Really didn't want to go out (hacking cough tearing my apart) as was struggling after taking some books back to the library and going to buy a replacement alarm clock from the pound emporium (as mobile no longer working needed something to tell the time when I was out). Going to stay home for the next two days being quietly domestic (and filling in the wedge of paperwork solicitor has given me - think we should charge them for our hours).
Was such a lovely day but too poorly to visit anywhere. However the journey to the solicitor was a magical mystery tour. Last time I went I came back this way but it was too dark to see anything. Bus from home town was missing so did two bus hop and started by circling main town and then out to beautiful village where solicitor is (up in the hills, luckily the threatened snow had not fallen at weekend). So many memories - went past train station I used for getting to meetings when DS1 was baby and for conferences and day trips / laser quest and old cinema venue/ places I've organised promotional events at/ represented people at tribunals / done fundraising stalls and advice sessions. Places I have been to parties, celebrations and funerals and even the place we left the car when catching a coach to a Greenham Common event (had to dig the car out of a foot of snow in the early hours when we got back).
If I am feeling better later in the week I am going to walk to an exercise session at a local park (don't think I am ready to participate, the walk will be enough of a challenge) and on Friday afternoon I might go to the library cinema session - there's an oldies film club on the last Friday of the month and it's only a pound. I will have social life (baby steps, baby steps).
Today I am grateful for selling the house, for beautiful scenery and happy memories. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0
