Not another NSD here, as I used a triple points + 300 points for £15 spend + 62p coupon in sainz. Their g-f bread is down to £2.50 at the mo. But I am saving the nectar points for dd to spend at Christmas - only on about £18 so far, and it's taken me all year to get that much! It reflects just how much my shopping habits have changed.

Dss was talking about getting most of their shopping at aldee and then using sainz/c00p for other stuff. And I thought that I have simply shifted what I 'need' to what is available in aldee!

I took myself off for a run today - got some new running shoes in the summer and hadn't been using them, so I'm making a concerted effort to go jogging. And walk as much as I can - I love my fitbit :D

dolly - it used to be hit and miss for me with my iron levels when I went to give blood. Then when I 'turned' coeliac, it took me a while to get my levels back up into the 'normal' range. And I confess that I haven't been back to give blood since - shame on me!! :o

    Evening all

dolly - well done on resisting the takeaway!

thrifty - I agree about the new website - I can get it to work on my phone but I can't find most of the options I used to be able to access or they are more convoluted.

SFD achieved today :j I'm hoping to have many more this week too as like several others, I am out of money. The end of October is going to be an expensive time for me as its MOT time (keeping my fingers crossed) and car tax time. If the car passes the MOT with no repairs needed, then I have the money for the MOT and the car tax, however, if not then I need to put something on my credit card or pay the tax by direct debit.

I'm also trying to resist the temptation to book a holiday for next April. I have the chance to get free accommodation abroad but would need to pay for flights, food etc and the major expense would be kennels/cattery costs. I think its a no brainer to not go but it would be lovely to be able to afford to go. I think I've just convinced myself (for the moment) not to go.

  • Hi everyone,

Just wanted to check in and say that although I planned to follow this month's challenge after enjoying my first month at it last month, due to feeling sick at the start of the month and generally just being really busy I have just not got myself organised enough to follow along. I have definitely been spending more this month as a consequence and as well as saving more money last month I also lost 5 1/2 pounds, probably a consequence of bringing my lunch to work, not popping to the shops so often etc, I hope I haven't put it all back on this month! I am off work on Wednesday so I am going to try and sit down then and work out how to follow the challenge for what's left of the month. Right now I am knackered so I am off to bed. good night everyone :)

  • Hi everyone

Just a quick check in, I haven't had the best of months (no surprise there).
Me and Oh have had a chat and made some changes so hopefully they will sow in next months challenge.

Hope everyone is ok and hugs to all that need them.

    Night all xx

Grrrrr I'm so annoyed. Finished work at a decent time so thought I'd do petrol and toiletries today then have the rest of the week NSDs. Got me stuff then went to petrol station but they all said pay at pump only - no good for me as I'm all about the cash this month - then I got stuck so had to just exit and go home without. Which means petrol spend tomorrow and a wasted NSD. Boooooooo! It's like I got penalised for not sticking it on a card. Hope everyone else's days were less irritating!

    Hiya everyone.

Had a lovely day yesterday meal out with daughters and grandson.

Had a bad night last night with my back so glad I had today booked off work, had a lovely birthday lunch with a friend, nice and relaxing.
Spent today as needed petrol and as she is treating me to dinner out next weekend for my birthday paid for my own lunch -We decided to be healthy and share huge prawn/salmon salad with a baked potato so great value for a fiver to include a drink.

I was supposed to give blood last week but deferred it a month, as feel exhausted lately. Still get their 3pints off me this year just need to eat black pudding to up my iron levels!!!

Off to bed, work tomorrow and grandson duties need to catch up with sleep.

andrar - I feel your frustration in only dealing in cash this month. I've done the same, but had to cave in on fuel and buying dd some food we can only get online. Well done for sticking to it!

    Good morning,

sharing some good vibes with all that need it, got some spare today ;)

Took the kids out in the garden last night after tea and got a wee bit more digging done. That way the kids burnt off some more energy and I got sth done, result.

DH paid back £100 he borrowed last month unprompted. So that will tie me over till payday and hopefully some will go to the CC.

Decided not to send friend's son's b'day present but take it with me when I go over to Germany in November. Will also get his xmas now with Amazon vouchers now and take that with me too. That should be nearly 20 quid saved in postage.

Our slow cooker will need a new porcelain inset as the bottom is cracked all the way through :(. Saw one for £15 so less than half price compared to a new slow cooker.

    Will be another SFD today.

How annoying, it should be more acceptable to pay in cash rather than a card really.

apple - well done on going for a run - did you enjoy it?

Fmess - we find the kennel fees a killer too, it is £15/day for our large dog and we take his own food:eek:.

Calling - your lunch sounds yummy.

luckystarr - what changes have you decided to make?

498louise - finding the time to read along and post really does help with motivation I find and as soon as you start to see results with your debt/savings then you really do get bitten by the bug.
