*waves* hi everyone. Sorry for being a bit AWOL, I ate some bad food (it's my own fault, knew there was dairy in it but didn't care at the time) and have been paying for it the last few days! Racked up a couple of NSDs as haven't felt like eating anything, let alone buying food/drink, but starting to feel a bit better today
lucky, I changed about 18mths before getting a mortgage and they really didn't care, it never even occurred to me that they might to be honest! Well done to everyone getting money off things and free things, October seems to be starting well for people.Bought my first house in 2014 - now, to be mortgage free!

I have made £12.56 from selling three of the kids coats on ebay, not a lot after ebay take their massive chunk but better than nothing.
Lurker popping in for advice: how are expensive are ebay fees at the moment because I haven't sold on there for ages? And I think it's time I had another go....‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

LSD - do you get to keep your work mobile even when on maternity leave? If so, then result!!!
NSD 3 for me.
Today I am grateful for not getting caught in the rain, for dd enjoying cheerleading, for lovely colleagues, for a feeling of being more in control today (after a shaky start), for dd going to school (she was outside the front door, refusing to go this morning...)NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
applemuncher i'm checking tomorrow! I hope so! I want to know all about it before i have it and use it. There wont be any sneaky looks on fb on it while im in work because they could check the bill, so im a bit weary after thinking it over, but i'll check everything and keep my figers crossed!!Still here..... but working on that!0

Good evening fellow turtles!
Not an NSD for me today, I'm afraid. I woke up really late this morning, just enough time for me to hop into the shower, get changed and drive to work. Didn't manage to make a packed lunch (hangs head in shame. 2nd bought lunch since joining MSE forum in Feb so not too ashamed about it. I did get a gasp from colleague who knows about my cost-cutting ways and said it is so out of character.). Spent £3.25 on a pasta dish (I used to spend a lot more pre MSE but now I find it very annoying to spend as much on a plate of pasta).
Thanks all for your well wishes about my friend. He's now discharged from the hospital after 2 nights. All scans revealed nothing nasty although they still couldn't pinpoint what the cause of the loss of sensation and function of his arm and hand. He'll have nerve conduction studies in a few weeks time.
Dolly and fmess congrats on your success with selling. They are not to be underestimated. At the end of the day it's money for things you're not using or will be using so well done you.
Congrats also to those who have had successes with the meat free and tech free days. Haven't had any luck in the Tog household. I had a meat free supper in the meal plan for tonight but due to a back pain DH rescued me and offered to cook corned beef hash instead. I think the back pain is the compound effect of having two consecutive weekends of long road trips (Leamington Spa last weekend and London the week before.)
Traveller and thriftylass actually our EF is kept in the Santander junior 123 account that I've just recently opened for DS2 (he knows it's not really his money). It offers 3% interest for balances between £300-£2000. Both sons have their own cash ISA's where we put their monthly savings in.
Calling I hope your car trouble is not too complicated and not too expensive. It is very handy to know a mechanic you can trust.
thrifty, well done for deciding to stop smoking. It's not only good for your health it's good for the pocket too. I hope you won't find it too difficult. My hubby used to smoke too. He picked up the habit from friends and within a year he went from zero to 40 a day. When he realised the damage it was causing to his health (he's an asthmatic), he decided to quit once and for all. He was lucky to have found it easy to take 360 degrees turn without nicotine replacement therapy and he's been smoke free for 12 years now.
Littleskintdragon yay to your work mobile. Yes you need to make sure you can keep it whilst on maternity leave and will not leave you out of pocket or worse off.
Luckystarr one thing I've learnt during our DFW journey is that loyalty doesn't pay. The banks are not our friends. It pays to look around and switch if we are not getting anything back from our banks. We have just switched to Santander 123 and have reaped the rewards of better monthly interests, and cashbacks from direct debits. MSE has a very comprehensive breakdown of good current account switches. Check this out

Hi everyone!
Another productive day here. Some business items have sold and been collected, have posted some more eBay bits, and have been into uni to discuss the problems with the timetable. Have managed to sort the first 12 weeks and will discuss the rest at a later stage.
Used up some odd bits from the fridge and freezer this evening to create a fried rice that was actually rather good!
Due to meet my new tenant tomorrow so keeping fingers crossed it all goes smoothly and they sign on the dotted line! Also have a meeting about my temporary shop tomorrow so will keep you updated how that goes.0 -

Hi
I think the fees still vary depending on the category your product is in but I usually think it's roughly 30% goes on fees for eBay and PayPal.
